Not bad but lose the fork shrouds and get gaiters and I'm not that much of a fan of dual headlights. It's got better looking pipes than the other T-birds Just my opinion.

They finally put a real rear fender on it! It actually looks like it has a lot of styling cues from the America, I'm liking it a little more than the other 'Birds

Single headlamp I would be hard pressed not to buy one. Not that I have the money for one.

This is how I config one.

+1 on the rear fender, no offense to owners, but I hate the original short fender.

I'm surprised Triumph is still using external shocks.
Why not an internal Progressive or Fox shock?

Looks like a winner to me, even with that huge radiator. Can you imagine how many bugs that thing would collect riding across, say, Montana in July?

much nicer T-Bird overall, like the new seat, like the new mufflers, like the new rear fender, don;t mind the dual headlight although i am a windshield guy so i hope they make one that fits that sucker nicely. It is on my to be had list for sure.

Other than the dual headlights this is the best looking version of the Thunderbird so far.

2006 865 Neon Blue/Jet Black Speedmaster,790cams, TTP Stage 2 Firestarter, Epco Exhaust with 10.25" Samson Vrod baffles, UNI pods with 40 pilots, 150 mains,Thruxton needles, 3 turns out.

I looked at the headlight closely at the IMS, considering a possible replacement with a single light. The America headlight is the perfect size, IMO. However there is a shat ton of wiring behind that Harley looking dual shroud. Kinda like a big plate of spaghetti

Well it IS supposed to be a knock off, of a Fat Bob, which has dual headlights.

Hah! I know I'm laughing all the way to the bank! $8300, for 100K + miles of smiles and good times! And I flog the you-know-what out of her, too! And then all the "Triumph" attention on top of that everywhere you go...

That's my mantra!

A fiat 500 goes 80 and will run 100k as will a Lexus. Comparing apples and oranges.

I hate the front headlights. I couldn't buy one with the lights. The single light classic T-brd looked good.

The only really alluring thing for me is 148nm ... nearly 3x the torque of my bike. But power to weight only puts it at twice the torque as my bike. Still appealing ... I would have to test ride it to see if handles anywhere near as good as the America. I prefer the single headlight and hate the huge radiator.

I just stopped by Struthers Brothers, the local Triumph dealer, to see the new T-Bird LT. Very nice. It already has almost all the stuff I'd want. I'll go back later once they have it serviced and ready for a test ride.

The tank is pretty wide to cover those big cylinder jugs. It looks like Ethel Merman on wheels. IMHO.

Certainly not as svelte as my America, which in turn is not nearly as svelte as the T-100 Bonnies. I hear it's VERY fast though.

I have seen very few dynos on the Thunderbirds that would indicate that they're "VERY" fast.

The dyno numbers I'm seeing on the 1700s aren't much different than a comparably sized Victory 106. Just sayin'...

Some dyno info

I'm calling BS on those claimed dyno numbers of 93 HP and 111 TQ.
Rider magazine just did a review of the LT and dyno'ed it at 82 HP and 101 TQ.

You can read it HERE

I might have passed along the Commander dyno, and not the LT, however, it could be BS.

I did a test ride on the new T'birg LT a few weeks ago. Oh man, that blue/white look is awesome. Triumph has finally listened and did something about the seats. Very comfy and supportive. The machine was smooth and quiet, good for touring. Was able to get into 6th gear once and the revs were low, low, low.

My normal ride is a Rocket III so you can imagine that I consider this a step down in performance. Someone mentioned earlier about dislocating your shoulders, nah, not gonna happen on this machine.

As much as I enjoyed the ride, there's no way that I could justify replacing my Rocket with the new LT.

The dyno in the video was for the LT I believe.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ryan!

Got the May 2014 MCN in today's mail...Bruce Steever & Dave Searle like the Commander for basically the same reasons that I expect that I will.
