Well I'm not sure if that's an accurate title for this post or not. Ya see I was laid off my job of 3 years back on December 30th. This was the place that I got out of the military to go to work for, well one of my reason for separating. Anyway I worked my butt off there 6 days a week between 55 and 60 hrs every week. So when they "let me go" I was all, WTF!!! Now most people would be all worried and panicky. But I started the job hunt immediately and started sending out my resume as soon as I got home. And not saying I didn't have my moments, but for the most part I was like an extended Christmas vacation, and I actually enjoyed spending time with my family without trying to kill one another. Not sure if it was a smart thing or not but I cashed out my 401k from there and paid off about 4 small loans!!! Whoohoo!!! And been squeakin by on what we had in savings, a small severance, and the "HUGE" (sarcasm) amount I get for unemployment.

Luckily me starting the "job hunt" when I did paid off in a big way. This coming Monday, February 3rd I'll be starting my new job with ULA (United Launch Alliance), if your not familiar with them they are a joint effort between Lockheed and Boeing and build the Atlas and Delta rockets for NASA, USAF,NRO and some civilian companies.

I'll be on second shift after my orientation and my initial training, (meaning I can sleep in ) not much traffic, ( but it is about a 45 min RIDE!! )
OH, its about 1.5 milies from my local Triumph dealer!
Primarily shooting X-RAY, so nice and clean, indoor and air conditioned.
And..... get this...... it starts out at $2 more per hour than I was making!!!!!

Not many people can say this but it was a huge blessing to get "laid off"
