The 6th annual Great River Road Rally will be going down June 26, 27, and 28 amongst the hustle and bustle of Westby, WI. We are going to have one last hurrah at the Logan Mill Lodge before finding a new destination for 2015. The lodge is $1500 for the weekend, we'll split it up between everyone as in the past. The more people, the cheaper it is for everyone.

As those who have attended can attest, Southwestern Wisconsin has some of the best riding in the midwest. As we all know however, the riding is just a bonus. It's really all about the booze...er...the people, I mean the people! I can't wait to see everyone again, and to meet some new people as well. We'll have a great time as usual, and FastEddy promised NO RAIN this year!

Dont worry theres really nothing in Hannibal. Wi has some awesome highways. I travel it all the time for work. I cant confirm yet but should know in the next month I would think.

Actually, Northern Missouri has some pretty nice, curvey roads. Nothing like Wisconsin, though. But as much as I loved the roads at the Midwest Rally, it would't hurt to think about somewhere else in the Midwest next year. And Kudo's to Scott for tackling all the details again this year. Doubt very much I'll be making it, however.

And there is a pretty good little brewery in reads landing (right on the river) so we can change up from Slipperys.

I do like the idea of going somewhere else next year to break things up a bit. Not much to offer in Illinois (except that one little corner), Indiana, or most of Iowa. There is some okay riding in Missouri and the best of that is in the north west part of the state.
So what about the UP or upper Minnesota?
Or go to south ohio and West Virginia ?

I think Scott's idea was to keep this rally based around the Mississippi River. Dave has been asking about going just north of St. Louis for a few years now. I wouldn't mind being just south of St. Louis.

But, we are a year out on that. Perhaps we can start a thread in December to try to figure that out early.

not just me, there are guys from Arkansas and Oklahoma that would like to attend if it was a few hundred miles closer to them

you should do a St louis rally. I'm in!

Next year's rally will be in Chicago.

I figured one last year at the lodge would be cool. We'll explore some different routes this year, hit a couple of different places, get lost at least once, it'll be fun! Have I ever let you guys down before?

Also, the Arkansas rally is down that way, and I don't want to infringe on that territory. For guys in the upper Midwest, this is the only rally that's close. I'm good with moving it further south next year though for sure. That was kinda how this thing has evolved anyway, moving it up and down the river every couple of years. I know NOTHING about Missouri or the StL area so I am going to require A LOT of help for that next year. I'm confident that it won't be an issue though, there are always good people here willing to help out. With that in mind, I am DEFINITELY down for moving to a different location next year.

But that's next year...Let's focus on THIS year! This winter has been awful, I hate the ****** snow and the ****** cold, I'm up to my ****** in school work trying to get my bachelor's degree...work...kids...wife...I NEED SOME MOTORCYCLE THERAPY!!!!!!

I'm in, not sure on the Mrs. yet... I would love to see a rally in West Virginia , some beautiful scenery and roads, not sure it quite fits into a 'Midwest' rally though...

back to this years rally, the biggest short coming that I saw from last year was the running out of whisky and beer. It was painful that last night after several hours of riding in the rain back to Westby to have no virtually libations, and no hope of getting more (at that time of night). there was only spiced rum

I suggest that (we) make a more serious liquor store run upon arriving in Westby. It should be the first order of business.
