Hi,Am having starting problems ie no spark to both plugs. I have just taken my Ignition switch apart to give the contacts a clean and now have two small ball bearings and I am not sure where they go!! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

You took apart your ignition switch apart because you weren't getting spark to your plugs? Post pics of your pile of parts, and we can get you sorted out. Sounds like you might be due for a new ignitor, can you provide a bit of info on your bike and the symptoms, plus what you have done so far (aside from the switch)?

Hi, thanks for the reply my bike is a 06 America. Went to go to work one morning and it wouldn't start, however when I got home it started, left it running for a while - all ok. Went to start it the next morning and it wouldn't start again. Bought some new plugs and put them on but wasn't getting any spark. Taken my seat off and been checking for loose wiring, checked fuses and then thought of cleaning the contacts in the switch! Battery seems ok - engine is turning over but not firing. I recently had clutch problems and put it into my local Triumph dealer to sort that out and for a service. Rode home from there (about 20km) and all ok and also to work for a couple of days. I will sort a photo of the parts I have and post them soon. Bill

No spark. Hook a volt meter up to the coil wires. If ya have power there its the coils. They do that sometimes.

Those two little ball bearings serve as the detents that hold the ignition in one of the three positions of your choice, they need to go back in where they go in reassembly. IMO.

The switch is back together now and working good. Shall continue to find the starting problem. Engine turns over ok and I have replaced the plugs (which were still in good condition) with correct gaps. Will have to get a meter to check the coils etc.
