Has anyone done it and kept the original side panel? Just in the process of making a manifold to fit a single carb so need it out of the way but would like to keep the existing side panel.

If you modify the the airbox to feed your single carb set up, keeping the original panels would be easy. Or fab up bolt on flat bar brackets drilled to accept rubber grommets that fit the mount spuds? If your talented enough to build a working manifold the rest should be easy for you, good luck.

Looks to be an old SU, very cool. Looks similar to one found on a TR-4.

Yes, its an SU, off a Rover 2000. I have taken off the chrome fake airfilter trim off the old airbox and it now sits about 1 1/2" closer to the engine. Going to fit a 4" velocity stack on it and have to make up a throttle arm as there wasn't one on the carb when I got it.

Also have to fit a choke cable, think I will fit it on the bars.
