Hello all, this is my first post. I'm looking for info and advice on removing the airbox and relocating the battery on my 2010 speedmaster. Looking for the cheapest, easiest DIY.

A Dremel tool or the like can be a useful tool for the job. You will still need to access the mounting bolts for removal but it is easier with most of the box removed. Do keep in mind the EFI models have a bit of electronics fastened to the box and may still need a mounting point. Then the fun of remap/tune activities can begin. PowerCommander or a modified tune via TuneECU will be needed to get the benefit of the added air into the motor

All joking aside,if you dont have a bike lift now would be a great time to use the airbox removal as an excuse to get one. I got mine out intact by lifting the bike, removing the exhaust, unhooking the shocks and dropping the swingarm with tire down out of the way. If you do this the box comes out pretty easy with a bit of puzzling. There is no sense in destroying something if it can be done without a hammer.I think the rear fender needs to come off too.

I cut the air box up & out on my Bonneville.
Removed it whole, modified and put back in on the America.
Would not have been able to actually remove it with out being up in the air on a motorcycle lift/jack.
