I was surprised by my wife and kids with a 2013 America this Christmas. I have been a member on this sight since around 2007 when my brother (Blackwind) got his Speedmaster. I had hoped to get an America, but life was not cooperating and I all but gave up hope a few years ago. To say I was surprised this Christmas is an understatement.
The last few days I have been on it and gone every chance I have gotten. If I can figure out how I will post pictures soon.
I do have a couple of questions. Do I need to bypass the AI on this bike? The dealer told me that it may void the warranty. It has a little over 200 miles so far and the pipes are starting to turn gold at the heads.

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Congratulations on the new ride. Concerning removing the AI, I would wait until the warranty is over. The pipes can always have the bluing polished out with "Blue Job". The majority of people removing the AI do it to reduce the bluing and popping in the exhaust on deceleration. I'm not sure if the fuel injected Americas have that problem with popping on deceleration.

Exactly.
The pips will not blue they are double walled on the America and mine never have. Your bike has catalytic converters in the front section of the factory mufflers. Burning off excess fuel on deceleration before it gets to the cats helps them last longer. Also the factory ECU is tuned with the SAI in consideration. Now, if you later replace the exhaust and retune the ECU then you could block SAI by placing steel balls in the hose just above the tubes at the cylinder heads (that way it's reversible and exhaust soot does not travel up to the air valve)

Nice gift!

Now go out there and ride safe.

Worry about that stuff when you have a couple thousand miles in your butt... Then you'll know exactly what you want and need.

Awesome! Congratulations! As has been mentioned just ride on for a bit. The changes will start to come down the road, and it's just a slippery slope from there.

Keep an eye on your tire pressures, and check that chain adjustment after it's stretched a little with break-in...

$20.00 bike lift....good tire pressure gauge, and a handy air compressor, tha latter two my most-used tools...

It's not that hard. Don't worry!

With this forum, you can't upload a picture directly, you need to host it somewhere else.

A good place is Photobucket.com

Create an account in photobucket, click on the yellow tab "Upload", and from your computer, you just have to drag and drop your picture in the "Upload here" box and they will get to photobuket's host.

Go the your library (in the Photobucket's menu), under each picture, there will be a box with 5 lines called:

Email and IM: --------
Direct: --------
HTML: -------
IMG: ------
IMG Thumb: -------

Click on the address next to Direct to highlight it, and use your computer's "Copy" function.

Get back to ba.com, start or reply to a post, write it up, and on the bottom right , next to all the "faces", there are a bunch of tags under the box "Instant UBB Code", click on the one that says "Image" and "Paste" the address you copied from Photobucket in the popup box.

Click ok, preview and post!
