The wife and I will probably go to bed around ten or so, like usual. You party animals have a good time, have one for us, and be safe!

2014, there I've written it for the first time. My new year's resolution is to not date documents 2013 habitually by mistake for the next few months. I know I will fail!

Happy New Years to you and your's.

Hope everyone had a good evening and may this be a great year for all.

We were with a Spanish friend last night so 14 of us partook in a tradition they have at midnight. We had a live broadcast from Madrid on the TV (six o'clock our time) 12 green grapes on a plate and when it hits midnight the bell tolls twelve times on each ring you eat a grape. 14 people sticking a new grape in their mouth every 5 seconds. We washed them down with some Spanish bubbly. The tradition goes back to the late 1800s she told us. I say if it involves good Spanish bubbly wine I'm in.

And if Day 2 is any indication of what this Happy New Year will be like......it was -40C this AM with a wind chill of -50C. Of the 4 cars in the driveway (2 belonged to my sons visiting) only my car started (It was plugged in)

Do any of you Aussies know what a Block Heater is???? And don't say a toque

It's gonna be a long time before I get to ride my new Rocket.

Day number 3 and there aren't any balls on the brass monkey anywhere in the N.E. (of N. America)

Is anyone south of the equator familiar with the term "Long Johns" they're not just a fashion statement they are a necessity today.

"South of the EQUATOR" ya say, Paul?

Dude, ya didn't have to go THAT far south in order to pose this question to the denizens of a particular region, ya know!

(...'cause I won't be needing any "long johns" today while playing tennis this afternoon under the SEDONA ARIZONA sun!!!)

Yeah Martin, and it also usually helps if one is located WEST of 105 degrees LONGITUDE.

(...'cause while the southern climes of North America ARE somewhat pleasant THIS time of year, the HUMIDITY down there and EAST of said 105 degrees West Longitude in just six short months from now will be JUST "a little" oppressive, ya know!)

I may need one for this summer along with some snowmobile gear..... but if the pavement is black........

Probably need to make sure the antifreeze is at least good for 40 below.

Probably think it is some kind of knot....

Where is the steam bath in those photos? Can't go for an ice dip without the old sweat box cranked up to 180F. Shockingly refreshing and good for the heart....
