Hi all, got my bike (05 Speedy) back up and running after sitting up a few years, basically just replaced the jets, battery and it started right up. The issue I'm having is when all is good and I start the bike with the choke it idles at 3000 and it did that for several days. Now its running real rough around 2000, after it warms up and I push the choke in the bike seems to run OK. I've been running some Seafoam thru it to see if that helps. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, Craig

You can go real heavy on the Seafoam, you can actually run on pure Seafoam. I've had the same problem with chainsaws, blowers, etc. and a strong dose of the stuff will eventually clean up the goo.

could also be that your air/fuel is not mixed right, i would not worry, give it less choke so it does not run crappy , let it warm up kill the choke and be done with it, if it runs right after warm up.

Its not a real choke in the true sense of the word. Its an enrichen circuit. It opens another fuel circuit that allows more fuel than normal through. So that fuel curcuit could be gummed up or you could have too small or a gummed up idle jets. If it runs good after warmed up and choke off , its probably gunk in your enriching circuit

Thanks guys, I've added some more Seafoam and going to some research on the enriching circuit as I have no idea what it is or where its at, thanks again. Craig

If you take the bowl off and then unscrew the enrichener cable from the side of the carb, you can spray some carb cleaner through the side where you removed the cable from. This will likely get er done for ya. Make sure ya place a nice thick towel on the block below the carbs so ya dont make a mess.
