Well it's that time of year agin to get some new boots. The company I work for will reimburse up to $100, any over we pay the difference. Since I've been here I've always went with Redwing since they have an arangement with them. I actually still were the first pair I got, over 3 year ago.
But now I'm looking for a pair that would be insulated, waterproof and steel toe, any suggestions. Keep in mind I'm on concrete for about 10 hrs a day, and I'd prefer not to come out of pocket to much, I'm cheaper than Erle.

This brand is what I wear, and all I wear. Work, office, motorcycle, leisure. MADE IN USA. www.afboots.com I have one pair of the black battalion that I wear on the motorcycle, another for just around, a pair of the Liberty for work boots, and a pair of the 6 inch that I wear to the office. My wife has a pair of the 6 inch, and a pair of the black battalion for the motorcycle. They'll custom make your boots as needed. Nice guys, small operation in East TN. http://www.afboots.com/

Matt, check Ebay. I got a pair of J. Chisholm ropers for 27.00 brand new, cost 189.00 when the seller bought 'em. Narrow your search by price and used condition.
I watched Das Boot on DVD the other night, there were no boots in it, bummer.

I love my Redwings, but maybe check into Wolverine boots, they should be able to meet all your criteria http://www.wolverine.com/US/en/AboutWolverine

I wore Magnums on the floor for a few years. They didn't hold up as well as the RW's, but were much lighter (and cheaper). http://us.magnumboots.com/?gclid=CMe2vsDilrsCFTNp7AodlWoAUwMy local Army/Navy store carries them and I'll probably pick up another pair this summer. The mesh is great on hot days.

Ya see the thing is I actually have 3 pair for Redwings (well, their off brands, WorkX & Irish Setters) right now, (a new pair each year) and they all have held up GREAT! I'm just looking for a pair that will keep me lil piggies warm and toasty on them cold rides in to work this winter. And nost of the RW that are Steel toe and insulated run in about the $220 range or more.

Look into the Carolina Gold brand. I've worn nothing but there workboots for about 8 yrs now. I'm a welder and I wear my workboots all damn day every day,I also ride my 2 bikes with them and they hold up pretty well. Insulated loggers with a steel toe would be about 150 I think.

Recommend looking into models designed for electricians. They use a composite toebox with the strength of steel, but won't get as cold or conduct that cold like steel when they're hanging out there in the breeze.

Yeah, what Hermit said about the composite toe, they're lighter too. Red Wings are hard to beat, they have sales sometimes too. Timberland also makes some nice insulated work boots.

I worked at a redwing for a while. You can go talk to the store, buy a boot that fits your company needs and then return it for whatever you want (non steel toe) irish setter had lile 3000gram insulation on some. Get the icon 1000 Eleanor s or whatever. They're awesome
