Yes, according to the calendar it is officially the first day of Spring. However, of course, it never fails to be something.

I woke up this morning and was actually dissapointed that the sun was out and that there were hardly any clouds outside (a rarity here). I was dissapointed, because on a day like this I would not hesitate to ride to work. Unfortunately, this darn head cold has me almost knocked out and there was no way that I could ride safely to work. At the same time, I almost feel guilty for not riding. Hopefully, if I drown myself with enough orange juice today, take it a bit easy at work and get to bed early, the weather will be the same tomorrow and I will feel much better.

Hang in there Soren. Spring is bound to last longer than your head cold

Soren,
Spring is running a bit late here in the north east. 19deg this AM. Went out for a ride 2 weeks ago. temps were in the mid 60s. still lots of sand on the road. We need a good rain to wash the roads clean. Hope this is the last winter I spend in the snow belt. Looking to head south. Anyone want a great deal on a used snow shovel.
Mark

It may be Spring according to the calender but the weather prediction for the Midwest is 6 to 8 inches of snow tonight. What a way to start spring!

Doesn't that suck when the weather finally breaks and you are sick?
Unfortunately, I'm up near Pittsburgh PA tonight and they are calling for 1-2" of wet SNOW tomorrow. Spring hasn't hit here on the East Coast quite yet....
I haven't referenced this photo in my gallery all winter, but I'm now officially SICK of winter:

Its snowing here - National weather service is calling for 2-3 inches today 2-3 inches tonight and then clearing sometime late tomorrow. Gonna be kinda hard to get the bike to the shop today for its 16000 mile service - maybe tomorrow afternoon. Gotta get it in, so that its done by next thurs so I can ride it to Vegas!!
It has been said that March is our snowyiest month here in northern Az, but I didn't realize we would get it ALL this month!

I didn't realize that it snowed in AZ at all. I thought it was warm and dry year round.

Nope - even "north Phoenix" got snow 2 weeks ago!!!! We get snow every winter - this one it was just very very very late. Northern AZ and the eastern part of the state and most of the mountains get snow in the winter. Flagstaff is at 7000' elevation - the San Francisco Peaks go up above 12,000'. Tucson has the southern-most ski area in the US in the mountains just outside of town - they opened last weekend!!!!
It dawned clear ( and COLD! 9 F) this morning but supposed to get up to the mid-40's today, so it should be melting fast. It better, gotta get the bike to the shop - the snow yesterday sorta put a crimp on that.
Hope your weather clears!
Keep the shiny side up!

Last weekend the snow level was down to 3,000 ft around the Tucson area. Mt Lemmon, which rises to over 9,000 ft from the desert floor above Tucson and has a small ski slope on top, got 18 inches of snow on it overnight. Where I live it was in the high 30's/low 40's and raining around noon. But that is a bit freakish for March.

See, the weather sucks here, so don't move here. I hear Florida is nice.

Wow, "Ski Arizona", who would have thought. It is amazing how some people (me included on this one) have pre-concieved ideas about some areas.

Well, after watching the local weather, it isn't encouraging to say the least. I managed to get a few short rides in , as well as one to work, but thats about it for here in Maryland. The next 10 to 14 days are expected to be 15 or so degrees below normal average and thats 57.It sucks. Dry and cool now, warm and wet when the weather breaks.

My Red Men Riders Club had a Poker Run scheduled for Saturday, we rescheduled for next Saturday, hopefully something breaks soon. If I hear anything about "Global Warming", I'll probably punch someone....

Becky, 16000 miles? That is great, I only have a little less that 9000 on my 03. Just last year though I learned that my bike likes to go for longish rides, but getting the worser half to agree to that is the problem. TR
