Okay, after wrestling with the decision of what windshield that I really DON"T want to put on my bike b/c I hate the look of pretty much all of them. I will buy a Wind Vest. It's distraction is minimal and by all accounts people seem to love it.

Question for those who own it. It looks as it mounts to the risers? Is there a particular model that fits our bikes or are they all basically the same?

It mounts to the bars.Call them and they will set you up with the right one. I believe ours use different spacing due to the spedo.

Miniski's right - they mount to the bars. I told them what kinda bike I had and it was covered.

I had zero problems with the company and the install.

The whole thing takes a few minutes (10?) and your off and riding. Would suggest - if you want it to be as invisible as possible that you consider the clear shield. I've got the tinted one and it makes the WV a bit more obvious.

BTW - it works really well - no buffeting and no perceptable loss of HP because of wind resistance. Great product!

TBANGA,

I just received my in the mail. You'll have to give them a call. I talked to a gent named Doug. Very professional and he's knows about Triumphs. He gave me last years prices for the 14" model.

I've injured my arm, so haven't had a chance to install it (or ride with it).

It does look nice, though, and the hardware is nicely done.

Call and talk to Doug, as was mentioned. Your height makes a difference as to what size shield you should buy. I got the 16" smoke and I love it. No more buffeting.

Next to my floorboards, my windvest is the best accessory purchase I have made in 40 years of motorcycling. Installation was a snap, it looks great and does a job comparable to bigger shields mounted on full fairings that I have used before.

Question: Called Windvest. For the our bikes, I'm looking at $375. That ain't cheap. Now I saw the Rifle Solo-Shield, which is the same basic principle. Only it's $199. ****** near half the price, I got to be honest, that's a lot of money!

Waiting on mounting brackets according to them, so I held off on the order for a while. Probably place it today.

I would really like to see a picture of the Windvest on an America. I'm seriously considering buying one. They said it mounts in front of the speedo which sounds a little strange. If anyone has one mounted on an America, please post it here. All the comments I've read are good, but it costs a lot and I've never seen one on the bike.

I tried that and for some reason where the pictures should be were "?" below the body of the message. I'm not sure what the "?" means. I also looked through member photo postings of members that said they had the Windvest and couldn't find a picture. I'll keep looking.
