Went to the BSH Extreme Custom Bike Show at Donnington last weekend, Not a great turnout of Triumphs but pretty good, lots of Meridians and a few Hinkleys. This was my favourite A thing of beauty I think you'll agree. Lots of Old Skool Chops using the old Triumphs but this was probably my favourite ever use of the engine.
All the best

Did this show take place at Donington Park, and where the new Nortons are being made?
And if it was, was there any Norton presence/exhibit there at all?
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Yes at Donington Park. Yes Norton is based at Castle Donington (the village next to Donington Park)

No trade stand. It was a custom bike show. There was at least one Norton there. NOT my cup of tea but each to their own I suppose ....

Thanks for the answer here, Ade.
Actually, I'm kinda sorta diggin' that Norton with all the single-sided running gear goin' on there. It's just different enough that it's interesting me more than the rest of all the Old Skool stuff here...except for maybe that very cool old pre-unit Triumph Street Tracker pictured above. But then again, you know me and my thing for Street Trackers.
And speakin' of Norton...what have you heard lately of Stuart Garner's enterprise? Other than how it has seemed to be dragging its feet all these many years now.

I bumped into the bloke who runs my old RAT Pack recently while I was at the dealers getting parts for the R3. He bought a new Norton a short time ago. He (and everyone else) have to pay in full upfront. Was quote 6 months delivery ... it took 22 months. I had read they were in all sorts of financial trouble. Don't know how true it is so I couldn't comment. The thing I read said they were having trouble getting components in to finish bikes. One supplier not being paid so sell a couple of bikes (cash upfront o'course) to keep another one happy .. kind of thing. The bike owned by the bloke I know ...

Man do I love the looks of the new Norton 961. It's just a shame that once again it seems like yet another revival of a classic motorcycle marque is a shoestring budget affair, and with the owner of it while not necessarily a "poor bloke", is someone who's aspirations are greater than are their pockets deep.

Saw that one mate, just looked like a standard America to me with an admittedly very nice paint job. Nothing extreme about that one. There was some lovely old ones there, got pictures of the same ones you have all lovely bikes. Interesting that you got a photo of the Royal Enfield, there was more folk taking photos of that than nearly any other in the show. Its the cover bike in BSH this month.
All the best
