I got this impression especially after noticing that once they take after the driver, the Range Rover never comes up upon another group of riders and until he's forced to stop because of traffic ahead of him...and when and where he got the crap beat out of him.
And, even IF the cager previously beforehand and before this rider's video camera was started had worked his way through all the pack of riders, for that bozo of a rider to have stopped right in front of the cager in order for him to possibly "teach him a lesson"..well, I STILL say THAT bozo of rider deserved what he got for possibly doing something THAT freakin' boneheaded in the FIRST place!!!
(...in other words, even IF that freakin' boneheaded bozo of a rider didn't start the whole shebang, he CERTAINLY aggravated the situation to such a point to where it then got TOTALLY out of hand!)
+1 all the way ..the group of bike riders are at fault..

I suspect this driver may have been trying to drive through the group of bikers - sure that's also conjecture. If you were in a large group ride and a vehicle tried to intimidate it's way through wouldn't you get a bit pissed off?

you need to stop trying to spin this in favor of the bikers all the witness and the other drivers that were there ..say it was them "the bikers".. and yes I find that sad.. I bet like most on here ..because it make the rest of look look bad...

If the car had done something wrong, like a hit and run, pulling him over and make him wait for the police is one thing but attacking him is another.

The "If" at the beginning of your post is a mighty big if. If the car had done something wrong, you would think that part of it would be posted as part of the video.
I think that whoever made and posted that video took liberties at the beginning and end, and edited out that:
1. The Rover was only minding its own business, and
2. They beat and cut this guy very badly in front of his wife and child.
That those parts of the video are missing are curious, no?
Bottom line, off to the hoosegow with the lot of these punks!

My point was if , and a big one too. And that there is no excuse for the violent attack.
Basically stating that IF the fella in the suv did something there is a right way to handle it. And what they did is not it.
The prosecution shouldbpull as many license plate numbers as they can from the video and prosecute, deny registrations , and what ever happy little trick they can use to make sure this does not become a model for future behavior.

From CBS news: NYC Police Chief Kelly said it was similar to an event last year with dozens of bikers, who call themselves "Hollywood Stunts," converging on Times Square. "This is a major stunt event where motorcyclists from various locations come together. Their ultimate goal is to get into Times Square, which they did last year," Kelly said. "Quite frankly, it wasn't on anybody's radar screen last year. We were aware of it this year." To try to keep group from heading into Midtown Manhattan this year, police set up checkpoints throughout the city. Kelly said during that effort, 15 arrests were made, 68 summonses were issues and 55 motorcycles were confiscated." Evidently, rich Manhattan residents don't like squids.

Just saw 2 more bikers were arrested and there were 2 undercover cops on the scene when the guy was beaten but didn't do anything.
I learned all I need to know about life by killing smart people and eating their brains.

Anybody happen to catch the guy's interview on "Good Morning America" this morning who claimed his intent wasn't to slow down in order to box the cager in, but said it was instead to look back to see if he was clear to make a lane change into the left lane?
Yeah, I'm not sure I'm buyin' that either.
(...and even if that WAS his "real intent", I'm STILL thinkin' the guy is one lousy freakin' motorcycle rider in THAT case and maybe ought'a stick to four wheels from now on!)

Just saw on the news that an undercover cop that was there that supposedly did nothing is on video beating on the SUV too. He was suspended and asked to turn in his badge and gun.

One can only hope the undercover cop is no longer any kind of cop when IA is done with him. Protecting a family trumps everything. Plus he wasn't working, that is why he didn't tell his superiors for 3 days. He was out riding with his friends.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.
