2003 America Not sure if this has been mentioned before but it should be added to the Tech Vault. I came across what appears to be a misprint in the Haynes manual(4364) years 01-05. Chapter 5, page 1 states Fork Oil capacity for Bonnie,T100, America and Speedmaster is 484cc. The 2002 Triumph manual, on page 11.11 lists the capacity for the Bonnie,T100 at 484cc. But lists the capacity for the America/Speedmaster at 548cc. As Murphy's law would have it I followed the Haynes manual and realized something is not correct. As I now have 484cc in the America and need to adjust the volume what is the best way to measure the fluid with the forks on the bike as I don't want to remove them a second time. I believe the springs, spacer have to be removed to get a proper reading. I'm running Progressive springs, stock length with a mixture on 10/15 oil. I've attached the link below from kansasbob from the vault. It also states 484cc http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...age=0#Post89339

Now I'm confused. What is the fork oil capacity in each fork for a 2006 America?
'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

i was told measure the depth with everything in (but the spacer) fully compressed and to ignore the volume measurement.
gotta take em' off or jack up the rear at such an angle that the forks are straight up and down haha
if you have progressives the tight coil goes on top to mess with the volume less. "upside down is like putting a rock in the tank of your toilet" is what a motorcycle mechanic told me once haha. i'm sure you already knew that just thought id throw that in there

Don't go by volume, go by oil height. From memory, 166mm, forks compressed & springs/spacers out.

I'm going to go by oil height but I need to have it on hand first. What I'm asking is what is the approximate amount of oil per fork?

A little less than 1 1/2 quarts, IIRC, but this much I do remember for sure, you need two jugs to gitterdone for both forks.

I made this when I did my front end. Set to 166mm. no idea how much oil is in the forks but it is even. Springs out fork compressed. I had two 1 liter packs, thats plenty
