I've been running a pair of the old Meriden Triumph gaiters on my '02 BA for a few years now, but I noticed that one of 'em has separated around the circumference about half way down, and so I was wonderin' of the guys around here who have replaced their metal shrouds with gaiters, what brand do you use and where did you get yours?

Ya see, while I like the looks of those gaiters made for the older Triumphs, in order for me to get them to fit around the top of the sliders and the bottom of the triple trees, I had to slit them and then run a clamp around those locations in order for them to stay on. In other words, the top and bottom of them were juuuuuust a bit too small in circumference to fit...and so I made 'em fit...kinda.

And so, the next gaiters I get, I would like them to be designed for our bikes and the right size in order to not have to put clamps around the top and bottom of them and yet fit snugly enough so they stay in place.

Does anyone have a suggestion for me here?

I have the current Triumph ones made for our 41mm trees and forks. First off, I do not believe that you can get them on without dropping the forks down (disclaimer:I never tried) and out of the tree. Second, the gaiters will stay put at the bottom, but I had to use a Blk. zipper strip to secure the tops (you can't see it). I Think (not 100% sure) I have an extra set out in my shop, new in the package, interested?

I've got these gaiters. Don't use any clamps at all. They fit just fine.

Thanks, Ryk! Yep, if you say the ones you have fit nicely around the top of the sliders, I would definitely be interested.

(...and yep, regarding installing them...I did drop the forks out of the triple trees in order to get last set on, and so yep, I know the dance here)

Thanks Bengt. And yep, hopefully those are the same ones that Ryk said he has, 'cause that is exactly the look I'm goin' for.

i got the ones from NSM they still require a clamp for the top that get hidden under the tree, can't see them really, the bottoms just sit snug over the seal portion of the fork.

I got the ones that Eddy sells, pretty sure they're the same as NSM and the same that Ryk has. I also used a Blk zip tie at the top, maybe not needed but can't see it and didn't want "my pants falling down".

When I put them on mine...did a lot of reading about them...Based on that the recommendations were Triumph stock gaiters work and last longer than the others...That is what I have going on 3+ yrs now
