I first saw this a couple of days ago. That couple is lucky to be alive. This (I hate to call it an "accident") happened a month ago and from what I understand, the cop is still on duty and the couple has decided not to sue.

Whether they sue or not that trooper should be punished.

I wonder what the cause was, looked like he intentionally ran them down. There seemed to be no effort to slow or swerve to avoid them. He should have some sort of repercussion more severe than a civilian given his position and training.

It certainly appears that he was texting or playing with his laptop when he ran them down. He couldn't have been paying any attention to the road.

This guy is still walking the streets after he drunkenly murdered a motorcyclist and maimed a few others who were waiting at a red light.

In this case the Indy police intentionally made the blood evidence inadmissible (As I recall he was 3X the legal limit while on duty) by having a supervisor take over the scene and taking him to a Doc-In-A-Box to have the blood drawn instead of Wishard Hospitable, as has been required by the Indy courts for years.

It was the only time this procedure had ever been violated since instituted and it was done by a supervisor. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He was covering for a killer cop.

The murderer in question has since been arrested AGAIN for DUI. Luckily for the public he wasn't in Indianapolis when it happened or they most certainly would have let him go...again.

They'll probably end up giving him a medal for some BS reason. In the mean time he just keeps on drinking and driving.

I choose not to drink anymore, but even when I did, I had ZERO tolerance for DUI.

I was 5 y/o and walking down the sidewalk with a neighbor kid, when another neighbor missed the curve in the road and ran her down. He then steered back onto the road, turned into his driveway and went inside. Her body was still underneath his car. He didn't have a clue!

Cop was watching his computer or texting. as much as i appreciate the police (in somethings,we have major problems with the RCMP and others here),as law enforcers they should be held accountable for their actions,no one should be above the law.

The memory comes back whenever the issue of DUI comes up or I visit the old neighborhood (we moved shortly after). It was raining lightly and she held out her umbrella to block the car. I was knocked/fell into the ditch. The driver's son was also one of our group of kids. He lost his dad to the prison system.

Unfortunately, not the only friend I've lost due to alcohol abuse , but certainly the most innocent.

could the bike have been stopped? (not hat that excuses anything). From looking at the white lines the car wasn't going crazy fast.
