OK, anybody experienced this occasional phenomena? Once in a while when applying the REAR brake, I get this sorta dull bang, clunk, whatever sound coming from back there. Doesn't repeat, just does it once per application. It sounds like metal on metal and I can feel it in the bike's bones. Like a part has shifted or somefin. Weird.

Oh, and the pads and rotor are good.

If it's metal to metal, and you tear it down, you should see a shiny spot/metal upset, or a deformation, where it's connecting/colliding. Have you jacked up the back of the bike, applied the brake, rotated the R. wheel by hand and tried to replicate the problem? The caliper bracket would be my first suspect, perhaps the anti rotation lug is getting worn, it is Aluminum against steel. Bottom line, things shouldn't be clunking whatsoever back there, but you already know that.

My first thought was to check that sliding bracket, too, and look at the caliper mounting holes.

+2 on the bracket, could be caused by a loose axle too allowing that bracket to move.

Yeah, I'll check that. Something's moving and transferring the energy into the frame. That's why I can feel it. Thanks a bunch.

It's the bracket.
