What year model is your ride? Did you buy it new or off the used rack?

I came across my 2002 America while visiting my son in Alabama. Less than 5500 miles, big bore kit, several aftermarket accessories, windscreen, foot boards, and few others. I didn't even know that Triumph was back in business. Did a bit of quick research, rode her around the block, agreed on a price, and brought her home.

Love at first sight. Only Triumph I've seen in my area. Have had several comments/questions from people who notice.

Still has original tires, made in 2001, so that will be the next purchase, then some saddlebags.

Planning an "Iron Butt" ride for the not too distant future, and if I can work my schedule out, a trip to the SW rally next June.

Mine's a Cardinal Red '02 just like yours, Russel.

You have a big-bore kit on your new baby, huh?! Then in my book you've taken care of the only little concern I've ever had with mine...wanting about another 15-20 BHP out of the engine.

If your bike still has the factory shocks on it, you might wish to seriously consider getting some better aftermarket units for it, as these bikes, even for their long-wheelbase, can handle pretty darn well if you do this.

And, it'd be great to see ya out this way next year!

(...maybe you can drag that no-account San Antonio insurance adjuster out this way again with ya!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Hey Russel, congratulations on your beautiful new '02! I ride a Cardinal Red '03. I have but one recommendation... that you get new tires as soon as possible. Those stock Bridgestones are rather inferior to begin with but moreover, they are old... very old and that can spell trouble for you and your bike.

Enjoy your ride and if you get a chance, throw up a picture or two.

02 Cardinal Red. Bought brand new from dealer without even taking a test ride, I seen it on the internet and had to have one, called around to find a red one with red being my color and voila! Haven't regretted it since!

I thought the '07 Speedmasters were "Mulberry Red"?

...not that it matters.

Mine is an 09, Pacific Blue & New England White. Had to look at a brochure to get the actual colors. Looked at the VIN plate and it was actually manufactured 08/08, had never checked that for some reason.

09 America, some modifications

Right! Cardinal would be more like a Bloody Mary vs Crantini.

'06 Graphite/Silver America bought new in '06.

Been through many, many bikes over the past 40+ years. Some, good, some great, some meh! This one I bought to keep for the rest of my life and ride whenever the mood strikes. It's my therapy.

So far, so good.
