I have seen it in the past...and I tried the search tool...but for some reason I never can get the searches to act right...
Anyways. I am looking for the write-up on adjusting the air mixture screws by lowering idle....removing one spark plug wire etc...
Anyone help me out please?
Thanks

Have to increase the idle so that the engine will stay running on one lung. Disconnect one plug and ground that wire. Turn the mixture screw in until the engine runs rough then back out counting the number of turns back out until the engine runs rough. The correct setting is 1/2 way between the 2 points.

Ian, I think you should save this post here as a word doc, then you could just copy and paste, cause every time this question comes up you are the very first to answer it. Btw not being a smarta$e, well not this time. Maybe you could do a step-by-step with some photos and get it submitted into the Vault.

That approach gets you the best idle; that setting may not get you the best transition, or the best cruise. That said, without the appropriate diagnostic equipment, that is arguably the best you can get.
Just for clarity, this refers to the pilot fuel screw, which controls 1 of 5 pilot circuit ports in a CVK carb.

It's one way to "tune" the old Triumphs with Amals.

I think I actually learned this method from a BMW manual while working on an old BMW that had old Bing carbs on it but the method works for any twin with carbs.
