Marty had one of these gas caps at home

http://www.fasteddysports.com/?page_id=3&product_id=838

tried putting it on my 07 and would not thread on, works on both his older america and SM, i think one of the pop ups that eddy sells will fit but i think i remember someone in here saying how you could make these ones fit? something to do with filing down the thread or something, anyone do this? pis or "how too" if available? Otherwise i will go with the pop up one. thanks.

I made mine fit. I had to file down the threads as they were a bit off. I think on the top side of the thread. Its much easier with a dremel tool and will require a lot of patience.
No pics... I wasn't into documenting things back then.

Had to do some filing to the threads of mine to make it fit, but fit it does and all is good. No time to check right now but isn't there something about this in the Vault? There's a thread somewhere 'round here.

Interesting. The same gas cap threaded right on to my 07. I can't think of why 2 tanks from the same model year would have different threads, especially since the tanks were changed the following model year for EFI.

I have a pop up gas cap for sale that will fit no problems if you decide to go that way. Sorry for the shameless plug.

Not the vault, just some thread. I seem to have a knack for the search engine here... a kick back from my I.T. days I guess.
