The Thruxton tank I bought came naked, no tank cap or pump. The plate that holds them in the tank on the 09 Speedmaster is a different size.

My question is can I just buy the plate and seal then transfer all the internal pump pieces across into the Thruxton tank?

The pump assembly is very expensive so just trying to save a few bucks.

I haven't heard of anyone on this forum swapping EFI tanks and transferring the pump over. I would imagine that the pump would be common to both models. You can check yourself by comparing the Triumph part codes. EDIT: just took a closer look at your link and realized the $167 was just for the plate and seal (I thought it was for the whole assy). So I made this edit to delete an earlier comment.

Other things to consider ...
The fuel connection under the tank MAY be in a different location (if so your hose from the injectors may not reach).

Also try getting a price for genuine Triumph parts out of Bikebandit in the USA. I have got parts at half price (on sale) from there and I know they a waaay cheaper than buying from Aussie dealers.

Gday Richard

Yeah I saw the earlier post but didn't have time to respond. The dealer said he has checked and the parts are all the same, its just the plate that holds it all in is a different size between the two bikes. He quoted me me $270 just for the plate, $30 for the seal and $60 for a tank cap.

The $167 was from a site that seems to be priced close to if not cheaper on some parts than bikebandit.

Never thought about the hose piece, will have to check it out tonight.

Cheers
