While I was overseas, I thought I saw a thread (here somewhere) talking about some of the different oils and someone had mentioned that Mobil 1 had changed their formulation. I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm this. I just changed my oil, earlier this year and used Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 (as per the Tech Vault). I know she's shifting better and almost never a problem finding Neutral (as compared to the oil I got at the dealer last time - Amsoil ?).
Thanks, Steve

I think the 15-50 is what I got last time. Works fine.

Just be sure that you get motorcycle specific and you'll be fine.

I use regular old Mobil-1 10W-40 & have for 58,000mi. No problems. Of course, I do have heavy-duty clutch springs, so it's harder for an oil-induced slip to happen.

The motorcycle specific Mobil 1 oils are good. Only the Mobil 1 Racing oils are actually Syn based oils. Everything else is primarily Group 3 petroleum oil (which is still good), with some syn (group 4 & 5 oils) blended in. This is the main reason their Racing oils cost more.

I have been using Mobil v-twin 20/50 since it came out. They use to make triumphs oil per Triumphs specs. I tried to buy it from them, They explained that; they were comming out with their own motorcycle oil. Triumph has now using castrol oil. New bikes say castrol on engine. Other than 3,000 miles each with amsoil and valvoline.Bike has about 124,00 miles on mobil 20/50 v-twin.
