Okay Mike, no drama. Which one did you sell to Kodiac? I'm guessing the Bumblebee.

Well I remember I did some research after I wrecked my red TBA and was looking on e-bay for a bike. It seemed the large moving companies were more expensive and up to $200 difference than motorcycle only shippers. Most offer free quotes.

I know this old british guy out of Tucson, Dave Barefoot, and he runs a one man show called DB Management. He does Transport and he transported my 73 Land Cruiser across AZ for me. He does coast to coast and will haul anything, but not sure if has an enclosed trailer for motorcycles as he used a flat bed to haul my FJ40.
If you're interested shoot me a PM and I'll send his Email address and phone number.
I also have a friend that works for Admiral Merchants Motor Freight and they've hauled work vehicles for me.

Everything is really expensive right now, but I did end up getting a decent rate from a bidder on uship.com that was closer to what I would have thought shipping a bike cross country to be. Motorcyleshippers was at $700, freightair at $1000+, shipping masters at $690. What a racket!

Food for thought...
One way ticket to TN from MCO (Orlando)
then
one way ticket From Arizona to MCO
Plus $100.00
might be way less than $690.00

Expenses between TN and AZ would be my pleasure. (2000 miles is about $200 bucks in gas) Might take me 5 or 6 days for this simple three day ride as some sight seeing would be in order. AND I'd have to wait until the current dust storm subsides. )

I got my bike shipped from seattle to new York state a couple of years ago. It took a good six weeks(!) and cost about $600. I don't remember the actual shipper's name but I found them though an online quote service that gave multiple options.

Thanks for the offer, Moe! I definitely explored the option of a one-way flight to TN and a joy ride back but it didnt work with my schedule, cost at that point wouldnt matter because of the experience!

I ended up finding a shipper from uship.com that is charging just above $500, pick up next week, deliver 7 days from pickip. It's been by far the best option deal.

I havent seen the show but it is probably for advertising. Uship is kind of the ebay of the shipping world. The actual company doing the shipping is Green Technology Transports and they are out of Knoxville where the bike is located. Been talking to the contact there, everything seems to be ok. Uship is just the site that gets the two parties together through a bidding system. I'll let you all know how it works out though. Fingers crossed.

Hornet is headed to Arizona. The shippers just loaded the bike in a covered trailer. Hornet was a bit hesitant to go with strangers as she's not been away from my side in three years, and she sure aint accustomed to trailer life

Congrats to Joe ( Kodiak89)who has been searching for some time for the right machine. Kodiak89 has been great to deal with.
You're getting a great bike, take good care of Hornet and take lots of family photos
If she becomes too sassy just let me know as she's always welcome back home.

I cant wait to see her in person! Pics to come for sure, and even more questions for the forum as this will be the first bike to call my own! She's going to a good home.

Thanks to the forum and special thanks to Mike for being such a great guy to deal with! This process has been easy, fun, and educational. Just as it should be!
