I just finished riding for 3 days in some of the rainiest weather imaginable. Now my chain is covered in a lot of surface rust. Any ideas on what to use to get it looking new(ish) again????

Whatever you use to lubricate your chain, use that. Then wipe off as much as you can. (Or move to Pennsylvania where you never have to lube your chain and they never rust either. )

That's the patina many bike builders are lookin' for, for their "Faux vintage" Rat-Trash bikes. (WHY fake rust/wear!???, talk about POSER! )
Here in Florida, I use the Motocross Chain Waxes that don't (Yeah, RIGHT, supposedly ) attract sand/dirt.
I lube maybe twice a year, or after a wash job, which ever comes first.

ps, JIM! Play nice.

I use lps spray lube as a cleaner and rust preventative. spray copious amounts on after a wet ride then wipe off a half hour later. Same process to lube chain every 300 miles or so.

Some lube and a grunge brush will take it off. I put the bike on the lift, put in in 1st gear and spray it once a year with chain wax. I don't have rust issues. Then again I live in the desert so not that much riding on wet roads.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

over here in California I use Motul Chain Cleaner and Motul Chain Lube. I clean the chain down with a grunge brush and the cleaner first. Make sure she is nice and clean. Then I take the bike around the block to warm up the chain and cause any excess cleaner to have time to evaporate off. I apply the Chain Lube to the chain and let it sit for about an hour. I've been told by some pros and by a Motul rep its good to warm the chain up and let the cleaner evaporate so the chain lube better adheres and and really get sticky. Not that it isn't already. It makes sense though.
I preform this action every 500 miles and to date I have 11,000 miles on my chain and its plenty well taken care of.

Laugh if you want but I am not wasting any time or money on it and getting just as long a life as anyone else on here. I never said there was no rust but there is very little. My chain keeps moving ,that may be why not much rust.

Iron oxide molecules can't bind to something moving, That's Ian's story and he's sticking to it, so give it up.

Well, Ian... you're gonna love this. On the chain I have now I followed your lead and never lubed it. It's now in it's second season with about 15,000 miles on it and I think I adjusted it twice. It does rust a bit, but I wipe it down with a cloth dampened with penetrating oil to keep it looking good. There is a sticky link or two but I got that with lubed chains too. All in all I'd have to say I'm a convert and probably won't lube ever again.
Live to love, love to live.
