Hi, this is Kim. Steve's unable to type.
Earlier today, he stopped at a gas station and while getting off his bike, it started to tip over. He put his body between the bike and the pump, but the bike still fell on top of him. He ended up in ER where he was told he had a broken collarbone on the left side and a hematoma on his right hand. No surgery required. He has to use a sling for 4-6 weeks and a brace on his right hand/wrist for several days. We're very thankful! It certainly could have been worse, but he says it hurts like hell. It's a 10 plus. Anyone else had this happen or know someone? Looking for any advice and maybe some helpful tips.
As far as the bike, it made it through almost unscathed. The front turn signal lens was destroyed and a very small part of the chrome holding the lens has pock-marks. A metal ball at the end of the clutch lever on the left side has some deep gashes, as well as the tail end of the left side pipe, but he is going to replace the pipes anyway.

anyone have a spare turn signal front 2013 America ? left side ...

Oh my gosh Kim / Steve. Hate to hear this news. Hope he heals up right and quick. Sounds like typing (as well as some other important paper work) will be a challenge for a bit.
Are the turn signals on the handle bar or the forks? Don't know if I have any that would help. Guess the new TORs aren't on the bike yet.

He did the right thing! The few times I dropped mine I did what I could to get under it. I wish him a speedy recovery!

Broke mine a year or so ago. Yes, I have advice. Get the collarbone pinned. If your doctor says just put it in a sling and it will heal just fine, get another doctor. Broke mine last year and my very good and knowledgeable ortho surgeon said 'some doctors prefer to put a pin in it but I don't'.

He was WRONG. It took FOREVER to heal and hurt like hell the whole time (plus, I rebroke it three weeks in because it was unstable). In the mean time I met a dozen people who'd broken their's and felt great three weeks after the procedure.

Get it pinned. Trust me.

best wishes on your recovery...things must already be improving if you were able to do some work on your baby. Glad your injuries were minor.

Keep healing up. Im glad ya werent hurt worse, as ya could have been.
