I am thinking of setting back my exhaust about 6" or so. That will enable me to properly insert a baffle instead of how I have it now.

So, what I am wanting to do is get a 6" extension and put it between the header and the muffler.

I have searched online for an extension, but I maybe I am just not using the right key words because most everything I am coming up with is eaither automotive or exhaust tips or both. Does anyone have an outlet to get something like that?

Thanx,
Soren

As long as the diameters match, automotive pipe should work. Also, (don't laugh till you try it) you might try a plumbing supply. There are some chromed drain pipes that are about the right size. Did this once to run straight pipes on an R90/S and it worked out nicely. Bloody thing sounded like a Spitfire in a power dive.

Thanks GB, I'll have to check into that as an option. As long as its chrome and is 1 3/4 diameter, it should work.

I know i saw extensions somewhere, fairly cheap. Have you tried the big sites like J&p cycles, Harley sites, these usually have a large assortment of pipes, baffles, reducers ect.

If it can't be bought, I'll make it. If it can be bought i'll make it anyway!

I just got the J&P catalog in the mail yesterday, but I didnt find anything. I'll keep looking. If you happen to run across those again, post the link, I would appreciate it.

long shot but try these guys, or even a metal shop around you, 6" is usually a drop piece they may have.

I found the exact extension pipe at Advance Discount Auto Parts,it's an automotive piece of straight pipe, 12" long and expanded slightly on one end, slips right over exhaust header pipe and then tapers to the same original size. $4.49 each......Good luck

I was able to get 1 7/8" polished pipe from my local
stainless exhaust installer to make drag pipes for
$8.00 a foot. With all the little zoom zoom cars out
there he said he sells a lot of small pipe these days.
Maybe a local place near you might have it.
