Thanks for posting. I've got some great memories of riding 66 and stopping in some of those same areas. And I loved the bloggers smartass attitude about.. pretty much everything

Here's one for Dave (Roadworthy), "I had never been to St. Louis. It reminded me of Hartford, Connecticut — kind of pointless and sad. I ate at a Quizno’s and wanted to kill myself." Definitely not my impression of either St. Louis or Hartford. And WTF? Eating at a chain restaurant usually does riddle one with guilt when trekking cross country. lol

come on moe, you know St. Louis has very little to offer except for a few fast food joints...

Yes, the longest I think is about 70 miles. There is always some little joint with gas or a truck stop.

Motivating! Would have been neat to have another rider start at the other end, and meet in the middle somewhere.

Loved this guys blog & the pics. Reminded me of my own recent epic SW/CA ride in May. Rode much of the Mother Road on the way out myself, but stuck to I40 mostly coming back east. (now if I could only figure out how to get the pics on my phone to downlaod)

OUCH, my wife grew up near Hartford, so I can share the sentiment about that "fine city", kind of an anti-climax stuck between Boston and NYC, and my lil sis just moved back to STL from Denver, not impressed with that either, so what does that say about the Mile High City, not even favorable compared to STL and Hartford! And a choice to move prefaced by, you have to drive 10 hours across eastern CO an Kansas to get there!

note that this bloggers home city is Chicago, so hardly starting out wiht an unbiased perspective of STL, after all, their pride and hope is the Cubs and STL has the Cards, lots of sour milk I'd say!
