Just curious how long you guys' brake pads last, front and back. I know there are factors causing pads to live lives of varying duration, but where you at? I have about 12,000 miles, and my rears are low. Fronts I suppose (look) fine.

I have 22,000 miles on mine. Replaced rears twice and fronts once. Fronts lasted almost 20,000.

I'm hard on brakes. My rears last about twice as long as a rear tire or 9000mi. My fronts about 12000mi. I prefer semi-metallic pads. They say they wear out your rotors, but my mine have lasted 57000mi so far...

I would change the rear pads, the stock rears wear quickly on out bikes.

My bike has right at 7,000 miles on it. Bought it this year. I recieved my brake pads last night, so will be doing a change in a couple days.

Stock rears lasted a little over 6,000 miles - down to the metal. I've never had that before! I had the shop replace the fronts at the same time. Replacements (don't remember the brand) have lasted much longer.

My first set did the same thing, I'm pretty sure the stock pads are made of butter

I just paid $18 for front and rear together including shipping from Ebay.I haven't done front brakes yet at 30,000 mi. but done 3 or 4 rear. I use organic pads to save the rotors and I have seen the wear difference with different materials on the clutch and brakes on my wrecker so I choose not to wear out the rotors on my bike.Ceramic clutch killed the flywheel and pressure plate on my wrecker.Lasted a long time but instead of just a disc I needed all 3, pressure plate, flywheel ,and disc.I think my front last due to the dual discs.I use both front and back together to stop but I do hit the rear alone to bleed off speed sometimes.
