Just picked up a new Thruxton today. Advice please. I have been reading post and listening to you tube video of the TORs and British Custom Pipes. What is the general opinion of each as far as tone, loudness and performance, I have ridin a Harley for the past 8 years so nothing will be too loud. Just looking for some advice.
Thanks,
Jason

i am a fan of the Arrows myself, but the bombers are nice as well (or BC equivalent) the TORS are ok but quite for me.

I have the short TORs and love em. Just right for me,louder than stock but not offensively so, I find they produce a nice burble.

I gutted my exhaust. Started scaring small children. So the only thing to do was ditch the mufflers altogether. Now I'm just dumping out the headers. Looks cool. Kinda hell on the noggin. Looking at the Rinehart stuff currently.

I selected the long TORs due to economic reasons. The dealer gave me a $200 store credit when I bought my America so they only set me back $229. I listened to a couple sound bites on Youtube but still wasn't sure what I was getting. Installed them today and am pleasantly surprised. Not so loud that I wake up the neighborhood but a nice deep throaty sound. I also have not experienced he crackling and backfiring reported by some on the forums. The $330 I saved getting these over the BC Bombers is burning a hole in my pocket so I think I'll get a Solo Seat.

Matt's got a set of stock Thruxton pipes in the classifieds. For just a bill you could tinker with those and keep a stock set to go back quiet.
