I was fortunate to be a judge for a local bike show at Champions Yamaha/Honda in Oakland, FL. today.

And THIS is why it was such a tough job;

Note: ALL the pics were taken sideways with my camara phone cause the bikes are so long vs. high.
I tried for an HOUR to get ALL the photos rotated, and THIS is what I get for trying!

PLEASE bear with me, as I tried my best, and failed on some.
So I ask, CAN YA'LL JUST TURN YOUR DAMN HEADS FOR SOME!??

Yes, this guy is DRIFTING all over the parking lot;

their top speed is about 80 MPH!

And did ya notice some are "Darksided"!???
(Charlie should be proud! Chad too)

And YES!, ol'Erle wants one.

No turbo's? No NOS?

Sounds like you had fun though!

The Ruckus - as supplied by Honda, has a 50cc motor. That usually gets yanked and replaced by a 150cc GY6 China/Taiwan clone of an older Honda design. Cheap and powerful. A minibike on steroids!

If I had to pick one I'm thinking I like the green one best.

Gotta say I never thought I'd put these two words together in the same sentence, BUT those are some "Badass Scooters", alright!

The standard Ruckus's top speed is 35 mph. Around here they're called "DUI scooters" because the state does not require you to have a license.

So, where are the golf cart competition photos?

I'm surprised nobody altered the handlebars much. You'd think a set of Apes or some Rabbits or even just moving them back towards the rider some would be present on one or two of 'em, with that many examples in attendance. And I gotta ask, so Erle, who won and why?

I think I want one! No tags, no insurance, zip around to store etc. Take it to bike night!

Some of those folks look like they spent some big money on them.

Scroll through the pic's. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th pic. from the end are labeled 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Some of the judging categories were "extent of customizing", "cleanliness", "Just bad-ass", "Quality of build", etc.

"Etc" because it's been a week now, and I just don't remember all the categories . Seems like there were about 8-10 line items for each.

Ironically, the top three in points on my sheet turned out to be the top three over-all.

Unfortunately for the #2 ride, My favorite color is blue.

Unfortunately for #4, #3's girlfriend was very persuasive.

(Ain't that how life goes!??)

The bikes new are about 2.5-3K.

Some of the best ones claimed to have about 8K (including the bike) in them!

I'll try to find the local groups site and post it here.

That would make me happy to, I can easily catch up to them on that thing...not like the girls riding 1000RRs.

I really want one. But not so low to the ground. They are fun to ride.

I had to go with the big boy size. Not as much hooligan factor, but 250cc will get me there. The radical scooter nuts will swap a a SilverWing 600cc motor into these.

While these Ruckus scooters are certainly very cool, I think if I was interested in purchasing a little runabout like those, I'd probably be a little more into one of those diminutive little motorcycles, the Honda Grom...

...and which I understand the Honda dealerships can't keep in stock 'cause they're sellin' like hotcakes.
