So I had the 11th rear tire installed on my Speedy today. Not bad for 56,000 miles. The wheel bearings were making noise as they spun on the balancer, so they were replaced. My question is: how many miles have you guys put on your wheel bearings? Is 56,000 miles typical?

Any bearing that makes noise is suspect, they do not cost that much, so I vote, yes, change it out.

I have not heard any noise from mine yet, but new bearings run smoother and feel better (at least in my mind)I should have had them changed with this last set of tires, but was in a hurry. next set they will probably get them. bearing house is a few blocks from me so I can take them and have them matched. its cheeper that way.
