Its a 125 street bike looks like it would be allot of fun for my mile commute to work and only $3000. and the gas millage would be ridicules. I really want to know what kinda top speed it would have. http://powersports.honda.com/2014/grom.aspx

Well their 250 Rebel maxes out at 75 mph. Wide open, down hill, with the wind.

True but the new CBR250 single will do more then that. The rebel is very outdated.

It's not fair to mention the Grom without including one of the Thailand links - where this bike has been available for a while as the MSX125. Of course, American Honda would never let this video out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M9iMWPHpcgThere are others. I think 65 is about the top speed. There are big-bore kits already available to take it to 230cc. I guess you can tell, I've been watching this little bike for a while now.

Three grand for a Honda 125!!! If you want to blow your money, do it. How long would it take to find an old CB125 on a motoseller website? 3 minutes? My old CB would get 100mpg and hit 68mph. The biggest problem with new bikes (other than the fact they look like Transformers) is that old bikes are out there for very reasonable prices. But if you REALLY need a warranty, OK, but it's gonna cost you thousands of $.

Do you just have a mile commute? Or do you really want to release your inner hooligan? I've seen some really cool small cc cafe's. I got blasted by one Saturday. I was doing about 50 in a 45mph zone when one shot by me. Full out Hi-Po CB (maybe 200cc) sporting an antique plate.
We've got a group here that only builds small bore vintage Jap bikes. They usually ride in groups of 5 or so. You hear something that sounds like a swarm of bees, look up in your mirror and see nothing but a Rising Sun helmet w/goggles. The anti-bobber look.

What the heck kind of name is Grom for a motorcycle? Has Honda actually run out of names? I'm thinking more of Honda "Groan" unless you are 15 or 16. For 3 grand you could buy a used low mileage America or SM.

Funny thing we were just talking about this bike on Friday at work. I know a couple of guys who are real interested. I think it's going to be a big seller with a younger crowd (20's to mid 30's )

I like it,its bikes like this one that catch the eye of the kids. You know, the ones who are gonna keep the ball rolling. My 14 yr old daughter loves it,that and the little 250 ninja. Kids don't like cruisers,I thought she was going to gag when I suggested a shadow and she thinks my ba is fugly!

They did their research. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=gromI know I'll take a hit for this, but small bikes are FUN in a totally different kind of way. They'll never replace a full size bike (even though to some WE don't ride full size bikes). Small bikes, or scooters, don't replace motorcycles, they add to the 2-wheel experience. Or replace the car when you just want to make a short run somewhere. Maybe it's just something that urban folk can relate to. And that Janus is very nice, but I'm going to sound a little Dwightish here and say it needs FINS!

I think its the next logical step up for the Ruckus crowd. Again, if you haven't experienced a Ruckus or seen 30 of them ride by on customized GY6 conversions, you won't get it. The MSX125/Grom is kind of a cross between a Monkey bike, a Scooter and a SuperMoto, but that KTM sure is sweet.

Exactly what I ment. One of the guys I was talking to about the Grom has a custom Ruckus.

I like the little Grom, in spite of the dumb name. There are a lot of really cool little scooters out there now and I'm a fan of the great gas milage. A lot of people will quit laughing at the idea when gas goes to $5, which might not be that far away.

I would rather have that. I could use it to check my trail cameras before hunting season. I dont have a 4 wheeler I could ride that to the land and then right in and down the trail.

It wasn't that long ago that a Honda that size and style sold new for under $200!

Well Ed, for THAT matter, it seems it wasn't THAT long ago that a new 650 Bonnie would sell for less than 2 bucks a cc too, ya know. (...and if I CAN remember those days of yore, I KNOW you can!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
