As Samuel Clemens once said, "I would never trust a man who did not have a petty vice", or something of that nature. I find that most good company and genuine good folks are given to tobacco, or alcohol to some degree. As this is a community of generally good folks, I have one question. What s yoir poison?
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

I forgot to include my own here. I use to drink whiskey, scotch, tequila, and beer, but I gave up drinking more than six months ago. More like seven. I dont like coffee unless its been bastardized pretty heavily with flavored syrup and cream. My thing is tobacco, yep I smoke a pipe. I have a small colle tion of briars, meerchaums, and cobs. Nice smokey english blends, syrians, and periques, thats my thing. Pipe tobaccos and lovely pipes. Sitting on the front porch with my feet up on the banister with a nice glass of southern iced tea and a pipe wafting sweet aroma around my head.

My biggest vice is my bike but I have been known to sample the odd glass of Jack Daniels. I'm also partial to pint of Boddingtons or selected items from The Black Sheep Brewery. Couldnt afford to smoke as well!! Thats about as crazy as I get. Life is a big enough buzz for me most days.
I'd rather ride it than clean it!!!!

Well Chad, IF ol' Sam was right about that, then I gotta say I MIGHT be THE most "trustworthy" gent you OR him would've ever hoped to meet! Uh huh, 'cause I STILL smoke AND drink. Oh, and as this old song goes here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xScRujpU-L0 ...I ALSO still occasionally do the Hoochie-Coo TOO! (...uh huh, 'cause I ain't been "Saved" yet!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Bike, alcohol (not while driving/riding), coffee, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes and the occasional clove cigarette.

Not a drink or any chemicals in 22 years, I use to be a professional. Stopped smoking 2 years ago after a heart attack (smoked for 44 years before I stopped). I do ride my bike as often as possible (took a 2 hour ride yesterday in 110 degree's). I was never one for moderation, it has always been all or nothing for me. I do miss a smoke and a bit of JD after a good meal with friends.
Ride like you mean it.

Im not advocating taking up a habit or even for the fella who has found he does not have the capacity for moderation to drop abstinence from alcohol or drugs.

Only smoked for three years in my teens and I never really drank much. I suppose I could list gasoline. I really like to drive, even if aimlessly. Although my favorite thing is to drive aimlessly in a "fun" machine, like a bike, sports or classic car, of which I have had a few. Yep, that's it for me, gasoline. I've sure wasted a lot through the years.

I've never smoked, I drink a bit, though whiskey and beer are fine, I prefer my drinks fruity with and often with an umbrella in them. I really like Tiki Bars. My biggest vice is probably food. I love fried food and sweets, and can't stand the veggies.

Fried or BBQ squid, asian style. I got to have that at least once a week. It's the best part of the week! We usually get it at our favorite food stand, bring it home, open a light beer (Corona with a slice of lime will do just fine) and watch a TV show like Game of Thrones or a movie. I wasn't sure about it the first time I tried it, (I mean, just look at it!) but it has become my worst vice... I just gotta have it! I know, I know....
My feeling exactly when I got here. And seeing the locals holding the stick and eating the legs and all, I'll spare you.
A friend insisted that I tried it... and it was soooo good, I got hooked right away... and finished the whole thing... and came back for more!
Now, a duck head on a stick... that's different. Never got around to like that one... nor the row of chicken's anuses on a stick... some love it here though...

chicken buttholes on a stick.......................... I knew an old guy who would say "I'm so hungry I could eat a bucket full of buzzard buttholes". I thought it was just a colorful metaphor.
