Performance??? Mostly is yet to be determined. I haven't had an opportunity to ride it hard enough to see if addresses what I intended. Under normal riding conditions, I'm doubt I'd see a significant difference even if I had bolted up an old single pot from my KZ. But, at some performance level, there certainly must be an improvement going to a 4-pot, otherwise every bike would be running the same brakes we have, wouldn't they? Under hard use, primarily in the mountains, is where I saw the stock brake start to fade. I attributed this primarily to the rotor and I had snagged the Thruxton rotor on ebay for $50 bucks or something. Since it is larger, I needed to make a bracket for any caliper, so I figured why not put this on. I've got $25 bucks in the caliper plus a set of pads. For about $100, I get to see what works.
Looks?? Hmm. Not thrilled with how I cut the bracket & I picked up the wrong can of black, so the textured look makes it even worse. I can fix that, but I'm not really too concerned.
Scary?? Not really, as long as you can bolt stuff together & bleed brakes.
What's to gain?? Maybe a little performance, personal satisfaction, & I'm a masochist that loves being harangued.
