On sat I tracked down most of the problems I was having and got my lights fixed (details in tech). Asked my 10 yr old if he wanted to go for a ride on Sunday (yesterday). "Shure! Can we go to MARY'S in Strawn?" I had to look it up, its a nice hwy road right out of town about 35 miles. Great riding weather 73ish and sunny. We got there and I asked him how he knew about this place. He grined and said "I came here yesterday with Eathan (his buddy)and his mom" I was like, you little stinker! As it turns out, this was a place I had been trying to remember for 5 yrs! I had ridden out with some people and was still pretty new to the area. the food is outstanding! in the last 2 years they built a big addition that has 4 garage doors they open when its noce out. lots of bike parking and covered pick nick tables across the street. Yep it was a good day with my mini-me. Gotta get his older brother out next for some equal time, but he is into the Im 12 and too cool to hang with dad (unless I need money ). so he got the winning chicken fried steak!(small) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfGXlKtxjIA Go to 2:29 and Marys is #1. they are also in the clip right at the begining. http://photoandtravel.com/bnbnov06.html

I love Texas food. Been across Texas many times, twice on the America. Strawn looks like it is just far enough off the highway to be great. Maybe this year, maybe next but I am going back to Texas. Like the people, like the food. I will be looking up Marys.
Thanks for the tip.

Leaving tomorrow morning. The bike is fresh and over packed as usual. In fact it has been packed for a month, just waiting for a break in the weather. Should be in Strawn Sat or Sun. I can gain 5 pounds on BBQ and Mexican food while in Texas.

Couldn't find anything in tech about your lights or shorts. Got a link?

Arrived at Marys/Strawn this afternoon. I have had good CFS but this without a doubt the best. I had hoped to stay the night to try other things on their menu tomorrow but t-storms, possible large hail & Tornados are forecast in the area. So I ate and ran to sunny/breezy Abilene. Slowly heading North West with a good memory.
