Just picked my bike up from a local bike shop . Had a full service, engine and frame i.e. Brakes. Also had front inner tube replaced. The time for the labour was 5.5 hours. Also had an MOT done but that should not be in the labour time. Its been a long time since I have taken it to a shop. Used to get a friend to do it ( Couldn’t do it this time). But as I have not done many miles ( 3 thousand ) over the last few years haven’t had a service done for 3 years plus . So thought I would get it done by my local bike shop.Which I can walk to. To me 5.5 hours seems a lot . Your views on this please. Maybe this is the correct amount of time it takes. Atb geoff

Doesn't sound to bad Geoff, especially if they checked the valves. I know if I went out to do all the brakes, filters, valves, it would take me quite a few hours, and tea.

Brakes, front inner tube, oil change, spark plugs, grease bearings, adjust clutch lever play, brake fluid check, .......a full service is a lot of work. 5.5 hours is fair.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.
