Long time lurker and infrequent poster here. It was a nice day here in PA so I got the bike cleaned up and the oil changed for the season. I also thought I'd get out the camera and snap a few pics before she got dirty again. I've pretty much tinkered with just about everything on this bike. She was originally Goodwood Green, but I got a great deal on a Speedmaster tank with the paint you see. I thought it looked cool so I patiently waited for a cheap rear fender and front fender to come up on Ebay and then chopped and painted to match. I still have the Green tins to change back if I like. I'd like to thank the many people on this site who've helped me with questions and given me ideas and inspirations to do all the mods I've done. Every mod I've done is "borrowed" from someone else so "thank you". I debating going with the battery relocation kit, but I hate to lose the "hidden" compartment that I have with the freak kit. Regarding the paint; the guy who did it screwed up the black on the fenders by not cleaning out his spray gun well enough after the red. The result was a cool eggplant colored metallic flake that is only visible in bright sunlight. It looks black otherwise. I thought it was cool looking so he sprayed the tank to match. He took some artistic liberty with the front fender. I wanted it to match the rear fender, but what you see is what he came up with. I'm not sure I like it? He would have changed it but I wanted them back sooner than later and figured it wasn't "bad" and would grow on me. One year later I'm still not sure. Overall his work was good and cheap so I'm happy. Here she is: Bagger version: [image]http://s89.photobucket.com/user/airbuspete/media/Motorcycle2013032.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0[/image] No bags: [image]http://s89.photobucket.com/user/airbuspete/media/Motorcycle2013014.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1[/image] [image]http://s89.photobucket.com/user/airbuspete/media/Motorcycle2013012.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2[/image] [image]http://s89.photobucket.com/user/airbuspete/media/Motorcycle2013011.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3[/image] [image]http://s89.photobucket.com/user/airbuspete/media/Motorcycle2013009.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4[/image] I also have a pillion and sissy bar/luggage rack for the rare occasion my missus wants to come along. Cheers!

What's your opinion on the flyscreen? I ride without one but the older I get the more the buffeting bothers me.

I really like it. It's a Dart flyscreen. I've gone back and forth with it, but I always come back to it because the buffeting bothers me also. It just takes the "blast" off your chest, which comes in handy during those momentary lapses of judgement where I go WAY faster than I should!

That Flyscreen does a lot more than I would have ever given it credit for.
When I'm Ridin' I'm Flyin'! A bigger screen I would not want, and I've likely got at least 6 years and 60K miles behind the Fly.
Loving the new? 75 mph speed limits here in Texas, I want to believe that the wind-resistance and potential for side-buffing of a bigger screen would be more conducive to a more cruiserly pace. The Fly knocks a lot more wind off of your chest than you think. With no side-effects.
So, HOW DO YOU RIDE?

PS-Still waiting for maturity to hit but until then it's throttle twisted.

Good job! I like the paint on the front fender. At first glance I thought it was flames. It is unique.

Thanks. The mirrors aren't OEM, I think they're made by Emgo for a V-Star. I had just cleaned the bike and didn't realize the mirrors were sticking up like rabbit ears! They're normally down a lot more, basically horizontal. Now you've got me thinkin', darn it! Quote:

Thanks for that. As I mentioned the guy that did the paint took artistic license on the front fender. He was trying to emulate the "swoop" on the gas tank. It's growing on me.

Thanks John. The tank is stock from a 2006 Speedmaster, and the rear fender I wanted to match the lines and stole the idea from member chuckyj Chuckyj's Speedmaster The rear indicator idea I stole from rgoldberg. rgoldbergs bike
