Looks nice, Do they have a hard backing on the mount side? How do they remove, clip, nut?

Yes the backing is very thick fiberglass and I'd estimate over 3/8 inch thick though I didn't measure it when I drilled the bottom holes for the included hard mount brackets.
Here's a link to the bags I have: LINK

Nice. I like the way they mount so close to the bike.
'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

I got the same bags for Lola, but the next size smaller and have nothing but good things to say about them. The backing material is very rigid and mounts are very sturdy.

Ordered the same bags last night for my wife's Speedy. Also ordered the same toolbag. Our plan is to only mount the saddlebags when we get ready for a trip. For daily use, I plan on mounting the toolbag along the left side of the rear fender in the fashion of a messenger/courier bag. It's big enough for my wife's brush, wallet and etc.

FYI-if you decide to get the Vikings, don't worry about the shock cut out version, they really don't mount that far forward to even get over the shocks, so just the regular bags will stay close enuff to the frame. Save some cash.

We discussed the shock cut out vs the large bags. She wanted the highest capacity available so we went with the shock cut out version. She'll figure out a way to use the extra 700 ci.

Thanks for bringing these bags to our attention. I've been wondering which bags to get... I think my mind's made up now.
Live to love, love to live.

As the pictures show the shock cutout version clears the seat and allows the large bags to be mounted as close as possible to the bike.
With the extra room the shocks can be adjusted and the rear brake pads replaced without having to move the bags.

To He Who Has a Made Up Mind :
I been looking all over, I'm very picky and so far these have exceeded my expectations. Very sturdy and it's almost impossible to take off with the lid flapping and hats flying out into the road, there's Velcro on the lid that grabs. I got mine bolted on and they are immovable.
You should do it, HWHAMUM

Would easy brackets work with these bags?

Very nice bags. I wonder if they would mount as close with Easy Brackets?

Get on their home page , Viking has a live customer service chat and they can answer that question. It works better than the dead customer service chat.
