I don't have a Triumph dealer in the area so I've ended up using synthetic Suzuki oil. Now the Suzuki dealer has left so I'm wondering what oil you all use. Thanks!

I use drag specialties 20/50 synthetic. But really the MA rating or JASO and its API are the only things to look for. Nothing under API SL 4. So Amsoil, castol, Drag specialties, along those line you will be winning.

That will work on your ride. 10W40 for cooler temps... 15W50 for warmer, that's if you really want to get fussy. Get a motorcycle specific synthetic. We all have our favorites....right gang?

I use 10W40 (Mobil-1 4T racing) year round, and it gets plenty hot here in Vegas. Works just fine for the seven years I've had the Speedmaster. In fact I noticed a gas mileage drop of three to four mpg the one time I tried 20W50 for a summer.

I was just thinking of going to a 20/50 for the Texas Summer. I usually run semi syn if money is tight.
@big bill- Really a drop in Mpg? Hmmm and it gets pretty toasty there in Vegas, So I guess sticking to 10/40 is a good idea.

Shell Rotella T for diesel motors, synthetic. WallyWorld for $20 gallon. Pure one/purolator oil filters.

What brand of oil is so subjective that its divisive. The API SL rating is a hard number that is beyond this name brand poppycock. That American Petroleum Institute service life rating. Its several tests to see how the oil holds up under heat and pressure. So generally speaking any of the brands that these guys are so loyal too are good oils.

The Amsoil 20W-50 Syn motorcycle oil has a cold pour point of -40 degrees. So, you should be fine unless you like riding when it is well below freezing outside. Amsoil product data bulletin

I use Mobile 1 15W50 that I buy at walmart but it doesn't say anything about motorcycle. Should I drain it, quick?

Can buy the right Mobil 1 4T at Wal Mart too that doesn't have the friction modifiers in it making it wet clutch friendly.
