Long time reader, first time poster. I have recently purchased a 07 Triumph Speedmaster with the following mods: Short TORS (A9608027) K&N Lifetime Filter Snorkel Removed Secondary AI Removed and plugged Rejetted with Mikuni 125 main jets For me the TORS are too quiet, I have searched through the forums and haven't been able to find any threads with regards to increasing the noise without a full gut, which I'm not too keen on doing.. I did find this thread http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...rt=all&vc=1The method in the last post was what i going to follow prior to going to a full debaffle as described in the first post. Any other tips/options or methods? Just trying to achieve more noise without buying new pipes.

Hello and welcome I have the TOR shorties and all I did was get a 1.5" (I think it was 1.5" .... it WAS a looonnng time ago) metal hole cutter and drilled out the last baffle. Last? First? whichever way you look at it, it was the one nearest the end where the noise comes out!! Eventually I lost SOME wadding but it was over quite a period of time. I haven't done a complete bafflectomy on mine but I like the sound as it is. I haven't ruled out getting some Epcos though just to completely p!ss the neighbours off. Taking that last (first?) baffle out deepens the sound and makes it a bit meatier but doesn't cause too much offence IMO.

I have hooker slip ons for big twins, with the dial baffle set up. Couldnt do any better in my opinion.

Along the way to where mine is now I got some 16" tapered "universal" slip-ons from one of the internet stores. Maybe $75 for the pair. They are built solid but had some surface rust develop. Would say they are one notch louder then the TORs, about the same as the modified TORs I recently took off.

I was under the impression that the short TORS had a single baffle that was straight through the length of the pipe, fairly small in diameter. This is what the end of my pipe looks like -

I will have a look into these, how involved was the installation/fitting to the triumph?

Easy they slipped right on and I made a small plate to attach them to the frame where the center stand would bolt on.

I meant the end plates and I believe there are a couple of plates in there.

Thanks for clearing that up.. I was considering either removing that 'cover' plate or drilling a series of 10mm holes around the main outlet to see if that helped at all.

The other option I have been thinking about is to leave the short TORS as they are and modify the original exhausts by removing the first three baffles.
I am sure the TORS are quiet enough if I ever get defected and have to go over the pits, I do like the look of the shorter pipes though.
What are peoples thoughts on the volume increase? Based on the Exhaust ranking thread they should be a couple of notches louder.

OK so looking more into MattyMo's and locopony's suggestions I have investigated and found the following options, if I went ahead with this I would sell my short TORS and keep the stock pipes just in-case: Niche Cycle 19" slash cut http://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/index.php/muffler-slash-cut-19.htmlEmgo 19" turn-outs https://www.denniskirk.com/universal-turn-out-muffler-8062620.p4401335.prdEmgo cocktail shakers https://www.denniskirk.com/emgo/universa....prd/433825.skuWhile I like the look of the turn-outs, I think the idea of the removable baffle option with both the slash-cuts and the cocktails is probably of greater value, in terms of re-packing/changing the packing material to get the desired sound. Has anyone had any experience with short 19" style pipes with regards to pillion pegs/foot location and proximity of the outlet? I should probably make a new thread specifically about this but will see how I go in here first.

Thanks for the photo Brent - looks great, I am also thinking of going black with the fender struts and tank console.
How do you find the noise level and how did you jet?
The Dinqua calculator is saying 131.5 mains with K&N, snorkel removed, 42 pilots and no shims. I am thinking I may need to put a single shim in and that will work with a 130 main.

Thank you, It's pretty loud, they are the 19" Emgos and are practically straight through. There are some baffles that can be purchased for them, but I don't find them that obnoxious, I can sneak though my neighborhood without ticking off the neighbors.
I wish I was more mechanical to be able to help with the jetting. I popped and backfired like crazy on deceleration when I first changed them, but I took mine to the shop and asked them to find the correct ones and directed them towards Pats Calculator. It certainly helped.

Not a problem, thanks anyways. Ill give it a go with the above details and if it isn't running right I'll take it into the shop.
