A new set of Tires for the America. With funds low , I was not being ultra picky. So I am giving the Shinko 230 Tour Master a shot. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/14/...mp;esvid=400074 and http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/3...WT.ac=SLIsearch

With tubes and rim strips my total was 163 and free shipping. I read the owners reviews of both the front and rear and couldnt find any real negitives. Many of them said Surprisingly better ride than most Dunlops or Bridgestones that they had used befor.

Ill let you guys know how they feel after this weekend. They should be here Fri, and Im getting them put on and right off to the Dallas Rocker vs Mods rally.

I seriously hope this is an April Fools joke, cause if not the joke's on you buddy and you just wasted some $$$. I mistakenly bought a rear last year around this time and didn't get even close to 4k out of it.

No, I really did get them. I did read a few negitive post, but well hey ill let you know. I had people say the same thing about my Chinshen Hi-max, and they lasted just fine. Yep I saw the 3500 to 4000mi reports and I also saw 7000 to 10 thousand mile reports. I hope I end up with the lucky side of the draw. I looked for the tire section in our Tech section, but can no longer find it. AS I mentioned, Im low on cash and in need of tires. If I gotta get a new rear tire in 3500 or 4000, so be it. and I'll have learned a thing or two. Better than not riding at all guys. My rear Tire has been kicking out too much to keep it. Oh as a side note, I looked at Fast Eddie first for the tires I once saw,, He does not carry them any more, or is out and they are not on his site, then to Bellacourse, (nothing in my affordability), and then to Brent, he does not stock them at all. I did want to support our own guys,, It just was not in the cards.

People can put on whatever tire they want. Which i have done over the years I've been riding yamaha maxims for almost ten yrs and have used chen shins quite often, but they don't last as long as a more expensive tire. I would put 2-1/2 tires on the rear to 1 on the front and get about 7,000 miles from a rear. On my Speedmaster a strange thing happened I'm still on my original Metzler rear with 17,000 but am now on my second front tire. In my opinion by the time you have paid for mounting and balancing (twice) plus less mileage from a cheaper tire the "cheaper" tire costs more in the long run. I always remove and install my own wheels. To each their own, Des.

I got 4000 out of my Metzlers. I get 4000 miles out of everything. I ride them until the tread is gone and, if I'm not careful, the belts show.

Four thousand miles.

I swear, I could get some $2 million dollar tires from NASA...4000 miles.

It's a mystery.

You do know that tires need air pressure to work properly, right?

Dark side forever.

Isn't that a euphemism for Car Tire?

Air??!! I seeee. I'll bet that has something to do with that pointy thing on the inside of the rim.

Will that help the 'flop, flop, flop' sound, too?

My Bridgestones are 3+ yrs old but forgot to write mileage start on them, so I dont know how many is on them. I do know that even new the ride was a harder ride than the stockers,if this is more comfy on my ass then ill keep them.

Yup. Seriously though, there has to be a reason or reasons why your tires are wearing out so quickly.

Voodoo? Hex? Karma? Juju?

Ok, for the record, the tires went on Fri the 5th. 33947.? miles at chage on the bike. Initial impression. Nice and sticky, They looks good, rode all weekend and was very smooth (much smoother than the Battleax's I had on there) Hit 90+ on and off with no issues. Will keep an Eye on them and report back occasionally.
