I've got enough people saying they'd be intersted, so I will go by the machine shop next week and discuss numbers with them on getting them done in bulk.

The high cost of synthetic these days make that prohibitive.

Unfortunately I think Kurt's not been well so no response yet. Here's hoping he's on the mend!

I'm wondering if anybody knows whether or not dardoonk has got any further with getting the brackets made. If it would be acceptable with dardoonk i could make the brackets for the people that want them. I certainly don't want to steal his idea, but maybe i could work with him and it would also expand the range of the parts i make. Des, AAMMP

Hey Des, I am wanting to move the footpegs and controls back towards the driver. Do you make a kit like that for the America or know of someone who does? Yes, have already seen the Norman Hyde kit on-line but wanted more of a change from feet-forward cruiser style to a mid-peg style for my 28" inseam legs. Thanks for a reply.

I used the mounts from Des, 2 back and 1 down. They made a big difference, more that you may think. Highly Recommended.

Thanks Ryk. Have tried the Bonneville T-100 and liked it for myself but found it too cramped to be enjoyable for two-up riding for a week or two at a time. Think that if I can modify the America enough it will be comfortable and functional as a light-weight cruiser. So what has been the experience of riders using the Norman Hyde-type mod vs the much greater change to a mid-peg mod? There have got to be a number of riders 5'8" or less with a 28" inseam out there.

Once i have a set of pegs & levers & master cyl. from whichever bike they come from i can "reverse engineer" the adapter brackets that bolt to the frame.

If someone has a drawing i can make them from that too.

I've not heard from the original maker/designer of the brackets.

Do people only want brackets made or are they looking for a complete kit that bolts up straight out of the box? I don't know how much it would cost or what people are willing to pay for this type of modification. Des.

des, i think ideally we'd like to just remove tyhe whole assembkly and bolt it back down in the back. i also think it's not that straight forward.

SteveO, the parts that are in the pictures definitely aren't off an America or a Speedmaster so if people just want to move their own controls further back i could come up with a bracket to do that. Seeing as i have a 2009 Speedmaster i can see what needs to be done.

If other members would give me some idea of what they want i can do it. The gear change mechanism is simple.

The rear brake would need another brake line making. It could be the regular brake line or maybe a Flexible SS hose type. I need input from other members so it's worth the effort. Des.

The controls were off a Suzuki Hayabusa, "'busa controls mounted". There are some really nice after market sport bike controls. I had a set from Vortex on my Ninja...

As you can see they are adjustable up and down for fine tuning to the riders needs

I'll start on designing brackets next week. Just finishing off a prototype for extending the pegs forward for bikes up to 2011. Left side is done & right side is testing my patience.

Finished the prototype for the FPF (foot peg forward) kit. I'll get them posted on my website with more pictures. These fit America's & Speedmaster up to and including 2010. Price is $149.95 set.

Ture but they shift nice..you don't have to get these, there are a lot of stock sportbike rearsets on ebay...

So if I got a rearset you think you could make a set?..if so I will get a set off a common sport bike on ebay

SD, The left side looks fairly straightforward. I haven't removed my chain cover on the right side yet. From what i have seen in other photo's people have had to cut the chain cover to allow the bracket to fit. Of course it all depends on what type of rear set is bought. I was thinking of making brackets for adapting the original/stock levers to fit . All manufacturers have their own dimensions so making a bracket to suit them all would be quite an undertaking. At least with using stock controls (which we all have) makes it a lot easier but who knows yet what may transpire once i get my scheming little brain in action.

I agree stock controls would be best. I was just thinking that the ones in the picture were off a Hayabusa, if that had anything to do with it...For me there is no worries about the change cover I took it off, but when making something like this you need it to fit most bikes...A true mid-peg has been my holy grail search...

This has been driving me crazy...I have been looking at the picture on page 1 and it looks like he drilled and tapped the plate what the swing arm mount to. So the big hole is where the swing arm nut is...

I test rode the Bolt, just for fun, and I would say definitely in the same class as our bikes, and really fun to ride. Yamaha really knocked it out with that bike in my opinion. (except for that ugly exhaust pipe)
