I've been using amsoil chain lube (metal Protector) My question is, what cuts this stuff? Tried cleaning the chain with WD-40 and nothing. The chain lube works well but kind of gets caked on after several applications.

Thanks
Larry

There is this stuff I used to use that had a citrus base to it. Unreal stuff. I'll see if I can dig it up and post the name.

The best way to clean the chain is with the Heavy Duty Metal Protector. It's like the old saying, "The best way to clean a coffee stain is with coffee".

Take a rag hold it around the chain and spray directly onto the chain and wipe it with the rag. Continue until the whole chain is clean and then spray the chain lightly with Heavy Duty Metal Protector. It works really well.

Most bicycle shops carry citrus chain cleaner.

I just got a grunge Brush but I haven't used it yet. I plan on spraying on the lube and using this for a once over then re-applying the lube.
