Beautiful weather here the last two weeks. Go out to get on my bike this evening and noticed it seemed to roll a little stiff. Sure enough, flat rear tire. Pumped it back up and spun it around no apparent damage hum. Go back an hour later and check again. Dropped ten pounds. Back up on the lift, pumped her up to 40 pounds. Is that air I hear leaking. Yep. And I only had 12,000 Miles on the metzler. Was hoping to get at least 3 or 4 more thousand out of it. Plenty of tread left. Dam, nearest motorcycle dealer more than an hour away and Im sure they have to order one. Crap.

Maybe you can just fix the leak?
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

If it's a tube-type, stick a new tube in it. If tubeless, locate the hole & plug it !!

Fix-a-flat can work wonders. I have used for long term fixes many a times (years ago). www.fixaflat.com

Just remember..... Fix-A-Flat only works on tubeless tires. Spoke-wheeled Americas have tubes.

I thought it could also work on tube tires. I have definitely heard of people using it in tubes and bycycle tires. I've never tried it, but considered buying some to carry for an emergency. I've become a little leery of Slime as I've heard horror stories of what it does to the tire.

There is a product made especially for motorcycle tires. Overheard a recent conversation about it, but never caught the name of the product. Supposed to distribute itself around the interior of the tire so as to not create any imbalance issues, but also washes right out with water should you ever dismount the tire.
This is a preventative - intended to be run in the tires all the time. I do not know if it will work in tube-type tires, but the guy was on a Intruder 1500 (with a car tire for a rear tire), but said he has been using it for years in motorcycle tires. Said they advertise in the back of the motorcycle mags, in the little ads towards the back. I haven't looked yet for an ad...
I just happened to be standing near the two talking about it, but wasn't a part of the conversation. Sounded like something worth checking into. Somebody else here probably knows exactly what it is.

Their is something called RIDE-ON. Its supposed to work on tubeless and tube, but I've never used it. I used fix a flat on my rear laced wheel about a year ago. It worked. I tried the small can of seal&air, but it did not have enough air for the tire. A regular can of fix a flat will work if the tube isn't really tore up. I helped out a Yamaha crusier type that ran over a roofing nail. She had laced wheels, and the can of fix a flat got her home(I think)

My tire is tubeless. Already have it off an new one payed for just have to go get it put on. I think i will patch the old one and keep for a spare just in case. But with only two wheels the idea of fix a flat may be ok to get you home but I just dont think I would trust it for the long term. I used fix a flat and slim in atv tires and lawn mowers but then you're not really going all that fast on them. Well not on the lawm mowers anyway.
