CWC in Birmingham UK has alot of them! Fits right on. You can use the hub from a Tiger aswell. But I think the Thunderbird Sport hub looks better. I used that on my bike.

Can anyone confirm that a Tiger hub will fit a Speedmaster?

I had the same idea before I started buying up TBS wheels and the seemingly knowledgeable bloke in England that had it, wrote back to me and said no, it won't bolt straight up.

Do you happen to know what exactly doesn't match up? I read over on the rat site where a guy used the rear hub off a Tiger400 for his Speedy and was hoping the front would fit too.

No, it could be the in or out spacing of the rotors or the diameters thereof, or the diameter of the axle. I really don't know. The guy who informed me killed a potential sale, so I trusted his motivations and with the price of the hub, spokes and wheel along with the shipping from Coventry, I backed away from finding out for myself..

So how long did it take you to get a hold of TBS wheels? I have been looking on and off for some time with no luck.

Also, anyone happen to know if the single disc Thunderbird hubs are basically the same as the Americas? Front and rear?

At one time I had seven all together and it took about two and a half years of searching ebay. The ones with the Aluminum Akront rims are the nice ones, IMO. Come to think about it, the chromed ones are probably Akront too, but they are steel with plating..Contrary to a popular belief, they are not constructed of Fairy Farts and Unicorn Poop like some will tell you and thereby unobtainable.

I believe those are plug and play, but the rim size on some the the straight Tbirds and Adventurers come with a 2.5 x 17" rim if that works for you.

If you want a TBS front , talk to me, I still have four of them sitting right here and I only need one for a project in progress. Do you want a hub or a complete wheel? Jeepers.

Well, I happen to know that those wheels do fit! And I have a 007 Speedmaster. I use a Thunderbird 900 sport front hub with a Tiger 19" rim, an America rear hub with a Tiger 17" rim. Fit right on! And I bought my things from Central Wheels in Birmingham, UK. They used to make the wheels for Triumph before that was moved to Thailand.

I was trying to make a complete dual rotor Tiger Hub, spokes and wheel/rim cross over and was told it wouldn't work. Of course a Tiger 36 spoke wheel will work as long as you have a compatible hub.

The differense between the Tiger and the Thunderbird sport hub is only cosmetic. I think the Sport one looks better, so that's what I have on my bike.
One reason for people saying it doesn't fit, is the difference in rimsize. The Thunderbird Sport has a 17" front rim which is 1" smaller than the Speedmaster. I shortened the fork and use a 19" rim. Makes it look so much better! Lowered it at the rear too. I was trying to upload some photos but I don't know how, I'm afraid. But you can see pictures in the latest issue of the "Spirit", Triumph's web-magazine.

John, that is a good looking Speedy you got there! What brand and size tires are you running on those wheels.

Just the front... but I should note it's the entire wheel not just the hub. Works fine.

Thank you all! And Findlay, impressive! Var så god! (That's what you're suppose to say when someone says "tack så mycket".)

And the size I use is at rear 180/70-17" on the Tiger 4,25 wide rim. Front 120/70-19" on the Tiger rim. Even the speedometer is more accurate now!Works fine all together, no problems at all after some 40-50 000 km. (81 000 km in all)
Next project is a set of rearsets, or should I call them midpegs? With the controls around the same place as the Bonnies. Keeping a set of pegs in front for the relaxed riding and midcontrols for the active swingthing turnerburner! Happy easter! John

You tried out the Norman Hyde setback controls , didn't you Jim? Or do I have you confused with somebody else? Which wouldn't be the first time.

Horse or unicorn, let's ride them! Sorry, couldn't resist. I know what you mean, alot of talk and no result.
I'm not promising anything else than I'll give it a try.

I have bought a set of universal rearsets which I will attach to a couple of L-shaped brackets fitted to the lower rear frame hole, used only if you've got a centerstand, and the hole at the back of the engine.

Probably for the Bonnie-frame. Need to cut a bit off the chainsprocket cover, which will be the only modification. Or maybe use a Bonnie cover? That's the idea! Makes sense? Anyone tried that? John

Yes I did have the Hyde setbacks...they move the pegs a few inches back..but not a midpeg setup...main issue I had was over time they would flex and bend...But it may be my riding style that caused it...in a turn I weight the outside peg to lock my knee into the tank, so I think over time the mounting plat would bend slightly..
