An old friend of mine that I jam with lives in the Foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I always thought it a shame that I couldn't make the trip on my Speedmaster. Most of the trip is on back roads perfect for riding. Anyway, now I can. With the help of an easy-bracket, the Martin LX-1 that I just bought fits perfectly. Check out the pic.

I love it! Looks like it belongs there. My first electric guitar was an old Reeco hollow body electric, found it in a pawn shop for 30 bucks. I was on my old Honda at the time so I wrapped it up in my jacket and strapped it to the side with bunji chords.

Very nice setup. I would be too nervous about anything flying up and dinging my axe and would just take the cage instead. But I'm a wus. One rock and you got kindling. A friend (?) dropped my Ovation off his knee onto the floor many moons ago when I was in college and a small rock on the floor made a big hole in the face. Needless to say he bought me a new guitar. The new Guild was never as good as the Ovation though so I sold that and bought another roundback. I love em.

Roger that one, nothing sounds like an Ovation, I bought mine from a pawn shop several years ago and my 12 string is an Applause..a step down from a true Ovation made especially for folks like me that can't afford the$$$$ required to purchase a real one.

I don't worry too much about any rocks hitting it. The gig bag is heavily padded. I worry more about a rock hitting my tank or fender. I would never do this with my "real" Martin HD-28. Anyway, having this capability gives me more opportunities to ride.

I played with that a bit when "Unplugged" first came out, I was still in the band in those days... I could almost actually play the thing back then... but I'll give it a whirl..

That is the thing about drums, you gotta pretty much own a truck or a van. I have however played with guys who manage to pack an amazing amount of stuff into Toyotas and GEO's though. Where's BluesBass? We got the makings of a band right here... anybody play keyboards?

I let Big Lard Butt Ron sit on the bike the other night and he took his 300lb lard behind down the road and came back with no clutch at all.

Don, What do you have the neck strap hooked to up by your legs? Man, I tried slinging my gig bag (actually did it once) over my shoulder but fighting the wind made it a hassel. That is an awesome idea, it looks like a jumbo body would fit in there too! Now ya got me thinking!

Eddy, If you take the seat off, you can wrap a strap around the frame tube and then run the strap around the guitar headstock.

Chy, I got some real nice keyboards......I could get real close to a B3 or Fender Rhodes sound for ya...might be hard to strap em on the bike though, especially the stands.....haha.

looks good. i can remember toten my strat to a gig on the bike when the car was broken. strap locks in place the guitar over my back the neck up in the air. Meet the band truck at the gig with all the rest of the gear. only did it once must have looked pretty strange riding down the road.
Yeah it's fast. It's blue and it has flames.

Chy, practice up your blues chops bro, I'll toss a couple harps in my bag. I don't think my sax will fit in my saddle bag....
