Has anyone here ever seen a black chrome wheel on a BA or speedy? Any pics?
Ive been searching the web and find plenty of pics of wheels done in Black Chrome but none mounted on a bike.

why not just powder coat gloss black and a gloss clearcoat Z? much cheaper and the stuff is pretty tuff. Black chrome can be pricey man.

Erle, Sorry to say, nothing grows except ego when covered in black chrome... maybe the cost of polishing supplies... that still sounds bad. Ryk, This is actually a different process from typical chrome/black chrome. Its form a company called Permastar. I bought a set of rims last year with the intend of chroming but the chrome wont do it for various reasons. So then I remembered Permastar but their chrome, for as nice as it is, is different than traditional "show chrome". They say it has a deeper luster. I can see it in other pics on their website ( Permastar / Goodrich). This may look odd since I have chrome lower legs. Id hate for them not to match if I went with Permastar Chrome. Im not interested in Black powder. Looks great but not what I want.

That process "Permastar" really looks to be a winner, if I was to build a show bike, I'd definitely consider going that route.

I know that I talked to a powder coating guy about this once before and he showed me some samples of a "black chrome" finish over chrome then over polished aluminum, and over silver powder each a bit different but very nice just the same.
If it isn't broke ...break it ! then you'll have something to do !

Dont get your hopes up. Im getting married this year so funds are tight. If I hadn't been collecting parts last year I would have nothing to do this year.
