The other day someone on here said I should remove my rear peg hangers and screw the pegs in to the lower mounting hole. I did, but I didnt like how they looked. So I decided to try and make something to remedy that This Version 1. I forgot to compensate for a bit of length... In action

Well done!! I have some 1/4" plate laying around to hopefully one day make some mid-peg mounts bolted off the passenger mounts. Of course I'm working with a jig saw and an angle grinder... So it may take a while I like the ribs on yours! Nice touch. What are you going to do for paint/finish?

I will polish to smooth the edges, then I will either give it a brushed finish or bead blast it. No paint, just aluminium! =)

Looks sweet, nice job. I've been toying with removing my rear pegs but leave em on just in case I meet a lovely lady that wants to go for a ride.

thanks! learning to use the lathe and mill is fun, but I probably need a class and some new bits. :-/

Haha I hear that! I did work study in the machine shop when I was in college, but didn't use the machines consistently enough to remember the "rules of thumb" and what not. Aluminum is pretty forgiving compared to steel tho! You might find a basic machining class locally!

is that a combination machine? or is the drill part in the picture just really close to the lathe?

Micah-
It's combo machine. It's an old Emco V10P maximat lathe with a milling head attachment.
