Good luck and be careful. Have have fun.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

My sister had one of those for her first bike. I rode it one time, it was tiny. My feet didn't fit under the shift lever or the brake pedal, I had to keep them out to the sides as I rode. Good bike for what it is though.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

My wife is tiny as well. At 4'10" there isn't much choice in bikes. Plus I don't think I will be riding it much, if ever.

I have a friend who's 4'10" too. She bought the same bike.

Great starter bike for sure! Always happy to see fellow women get in the saddle on their own.
Keep in mind that there are ways to lower bikes of all kinds. I have a lady in my group that had a 2005 America that she lowered and switched out the seat to be more low profile and it gave her enough to get her feet on the ground. She is all of 5' tall. She is now looking at a new Bonneville, which traditionally sit higher than an America, and there are ways to get it low enough for her as well.
Good luck with the Virago! I hope your wife enjoys it!
Any day on my bike is the best day ever! That would be my custom painted 2007 Speedmaster or my 2002 Daytona 955i also known as my salt racing bike!

People do tend to out grow a 250 rather quickly.

Cool. My wife didn't start riding until 5 or 6 years ago. Now she rides every day unless it's pouring rain or snow/ice on the roads.

Ya, but I don't expect her to have a growth spurt any time soon.

Yep. I told Ruthie they'd be happy to teach her at the MSF class. After that I'd just toss in the occasional suggestion.

Well, she bought the bike last night and signed up for a training course today. Now we have to wait 2-3 months before we can go for a ride.

What's wrong with trying to teach her to ride your self? (I'm sure you really meant that to read as two separate words, right?)

Sweet looking ride. Looks brand new! I'm sure if it's anything like the Yamaha 250cc dirt bikes it has plenty of torque and has enough to pass a HD.

She could, I once watched a woman who was 5'2" become 10' tall after drinking only two glasses of wine. It was amazing !

The really amazing part is that about 10 minutes after being 10" tall they begin to crawl on the floor and then and then then you're all cause is OVER!

They are married, they probably got that part down.
